Healing issues but optimistic! 19 days post-op
WORTH IT
Overall I’m doing well. The ultrasound treatments work and make me feel so much better after each session. But I did get an infection on my left breast and my doctor acted quickly and prescribed me with antibiotics. However, I had an allergic reaction to 2 of the 3 prescriptions - hives all over and ITCHY. Doc felt the best thing to do is refer me to an infectious disease doctor, Dr. Pien. Doc felt that although I was not having a reaction to the 3rd medication, it may not be treating all 3 strains of bacteria- he was right. Dr. Pien said that the 1st antibiotic is the best to treat all 3 bacteria’s. And because I only had hives/rash he would prescribe another medication to help with the itching. And voila! It works! But then I hit another healing issue which is my tummy suture splitting in 2 locations and mildly infected. Thankfully, I’m already on antibiotics so the infection is going away. Doc put some staples in to help keep the suture together and relieve some of the tension. Having these issues are not ideal but they can happen and through no fault of anyone. Doc and his team have taken great care to monitor me very closely. I see him every 2-3 days to check in and I have a follow up appointment with Dr. Pien next week as additional precaution. I feel Im in great hands. Also, today doc removed most of my sutures in my belly button. It looks so gross lol but he said it’s healing great. He left 2 sutures in because he felt that it needed more time. Lastly, I love my boobs but my right hasn’t fell into the pocket yet and look like it’s pushing to get outside. I’m trying to be patient about my results. I know I have a long way to go. But overall, I’m very pleased with my results. I can’t wait for more swelling to go down. Stay beautiful ladies!

2 weeks post op - Mommy makeover
I have less discomfort except for the scar tissue that forms from the lipo. They are hard lumps and when pressure is applied it hurts. However, I receive ultrasound treatments from Diana, who is fabulous, to break up the scar tissue. So far I have had 2 treatments and it really works. I feel so much better after. I’m scheduled for 2 more this week with maybe another 4 more treatments. Diana is my new best friend lol! My suture on my left nipple split. I noticed for about 2 days that there was a brownish liquid leaking through the tape. It was very little and didn’t hurt so I didn’t think much of it. When I went to my follow up on 9/12 I mentioned it to doc. He immediately took off the tape to discover my suture split. This is at no fault to doc or I. It happens. He took a culture and immediately put me on antibiotics. He said if the culture comes back clean and you don’t need the meds, we will stop it. But if I do need the meds, we will have a few days head start. His prompt action really kept any anxiety away. I am a little worried about how the scar might heal on that side since it split but I’m hopeful. My swelling and bruising have significantly reduced. My doctor uses DMSO and we spray it on every 2-4 hours. I love this stuff because It really works to help reduce swellings bruising. I’m also starting to stand straighter. It’s not easy since my tummy is very tight but it’s a relief that I don’t have to hunch over. That hurt my back. Doc also took some measurements and I have lost 5” off my waist!!! I can’t wait for another measurement when the swelling is reduced more. Overall, I’m happy with my results. My husband has also continued to be the most amazing care taker. I re-fell in love with him. He has been my rock and really ensures I’m taken cared of and comfortable. Last but not least, another shout out to Dr. Schlesinger. He is an amazing dedicated doctor who is compassionate AND hilarious. I was confident I chose the right doctor after doing my research but, actually experiencing it myself, I’m truly impressed by his level of care. We love you Dr. Schlesinger!!! Next post op appointment is tomorrow with another round of ultrasound treatment. Looking forward to it! Will update again soon! Stay beautiful ladies!

5 day post op!
Drains out - Whoo Hoo!!! Overall Im happy with my results so far. I still have a lot of swelling but I can see the difference. My waist is snatched and 99% of my tummy stretch marks are gone! My scar is very low which I’m happy about. The skin is super tight which makes it pulls on the front right (picture is reversed and on left side). My pain has been manageable and I stopped the Percocet on day 3 switching to using tramadol (a very mild opioid) at nighttime to sleep and extra strength Tylenol during the day. I’ve had no pain, just very mild discomfort with my breast. I had discomfort on my tummy but it’s mostly numb even now (day 9 post op). It’s the lipo that causes the pain and discomfort and what I use the tramadol for. I had no idea the lipo would hurt like this and I thought it would be the least painful. Another shout out to my Doctor & his staff. They are all so awesome and supportive. Doc continues to be so patient answering ANY and all my questions or concerns. I feel very well taken cared of. I’ll try to update at 2 weeks post op :) Stay beautiful ladies!!

Yes it was hard for me to be patient after my BL/BA sx. I encountered healing issues which made my recovery longer. Check out my review anytime to read up on my story. Take care.

Awww, you're very sweet to take time to wish me well. Thanks love!
I love how low your tummy tuck incision is, great results. The drains are the absolute worst, it's a great day when you get those out.
Thanks sis! I was worried about how low the incision would be which is another reason I chose him. I want to be able to were itty bitty bikinis lol! Haha, the drains are the worst!
How are you feeling?
Hey girly! Overall, I'm doing well. But I did have some healing issues cause of an infection and then I was allergic to 2 of the antibiotics. But my doc worked with a specialist to find me the right combo of meds and I'm doing so much better and healing!! Just had a follow up today and I'm right back on track ;) How have you been? Is your state in lockdown? We are still in lockdown but hopefully next week it will be lifted - fingers crossed!
