Hello fellow journey seekers.

I have been reading you stories since 2016 trying to decide when I will take the leap. The first time I met with a PS was in December 2017 while we were living in Lacey Washington. I really didn’t get that warm and fuzzy feeling from him so we, my husband and I, decided maybe it just wasn’t the right time.

After we relocated back to Tennessee we talked it over and started really looking for a PS since we were through moving from state to state. We met with two doctors and we thought that we had found the perfect fit in Dr Griffin. Well that was in 2018 and again things changed with the need to take care of home first.

Now that the home is done it’s finally time to focus on this body that is craving to be released and transformed into a butterfly. I currently have two appointments scheduled for consultations one with Dr Shayne Webb and the other with Dr Anamka N. Definitely looking forward to these consultations to see if our personalities will work well together. I need a doctor with a real person prospective.

I’m 60 years young 5’4 and currently weigh 221 lbs. Yes that puts my BMI at 37.8 or somewhere around there. My breast developed laying down, so it’s time for those 42G’s to stop resting on my stomach and standup without implants. I see the vision I have for my frame, I just need a doctor that has the same vision and can make me leave their office feeling inspired.

Do your own research

Well, we met with Dr Shayne Webb on Thursday since he had a cancellation. His receptionist weren’t overly friendly but we could tell it really didn’t matter if we were there or not. He came into the room with lots of questions regarding the medications I take. For the most part he didn’t know what most of them were for but as we got into the consultation he determined that these same medications along with my age and the fact I had gastric bypass surgery and that I have multiple sclerosis I was not a candidate for a tummy tuck. He said I may not make it through the surgery and could die. Hmmm, I’ve had multiple sclerosis since 2015, had gastric bypass surgery in 2004 and everything is monitored by my primary doctor regularly. This was the first time I have had a surgeon tell me I wasn’t a good candidate and I have spoken to at least four.

My task was to come home and do my own research and see if any of these co-morbidities would prevent me from having surgery.
1. Diabetes as long as it is controlled and monitored regularly you could be a candidate for plastic surgery
2. Multiple sclerosis as long as you are not having any active symptoms and you are given approval by your neurologist you should be a candidate for plastic surgery
3. Gastric bypass surgery many people after having this type of surgery seek to have loose skin removed and once their PCP has given consent there is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to have plastic surgery.

Now he did agree that I could use a breast lift and he suggested, that since he doesn’t take insurance payments because they are crooks, I should find a PS that will go through my insurance since I would meet that requirement. Bottom line Dr Webb didn’t want to perform any surgeries on me.

This has made me realize I need an experienced PS that doesn’t try to use death in the OR as a deterrent. I’m not sure if Dr Webb is aware of how many 35 year olds with no pre-existing conditions die after surgery. What I do know is that WebMd is my friend and just because you wear the white coat you’re logic is not always on point.

Take the time to verify what your being told. Call doctors that don’t have consultation fees and ask questions, Don’t be afraid to ask is this your opinion or has this been determined by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons? Everybody has to answer to someone and upon Dr Webb’s return to the room after I got redressed he said, I don’t have a BMI that I require but you would need to loose another 50-60 pounds for it to be a consideration. WTF! So contradictory. FYI that is the meaning of a BMI requirement. Rant over thanks for reading this far.

Going back to my original plan.

Hi Dreamer..appreciate your comments on my review. Just wanted to encourage and wish you well on your journey. With the right mindset you can accomplish your wish Pic. Like you said, find the PS that wants to help you get to your vision of you. Many are perfectly fine with working with older women and familiar with health conditions Ike yours. Don't give up. This body make over is so good for the mind, body and soul. Best wishes to you.

First Choice is the Best Choice

Hello fellow journey seekers,

After the fiasco with Dr Webb I canceled the other appointment and decided to follow through with my first choice for a PS. We are going with…drum roll please…Dr Don Griffin here in Nashville.

I knew I needed a Doctor with experience and with Dr Griffin what you see is what you get. He let me know right way we needed to rethink our original plan because of the weight I had lost since the first time we met. He let me know that having liposuction on my upper flanks would be a waste of time and my money. Because there is no fat in that area our plan moving forward is:

1. Upper back lift to help contour my waist and help improve the look of my breast lift
2. Breast lift going from a 42G to a D or DD that would be about 1.5 lbs removed on each side
3. Tummy tuck with muscle repair

We’re looking to book sometime the middle to the end of April unless he has cancellations. I’m willing to go on the cancellation list only if I can be the first patient of the day. So now all I have left to do is get ready with my aftercare products.

Wishing all of you the best and keep Dreaming.
