Before and after final

Though some say that the before was not bad, it was bad for me after experiencing unexpected, unexplained weight gain. I could not get more pics to upload. After the initial surgery, I found out the I was peri-menopausal and had developed hypothyroidism. Here are a couple before pics and a couple 1 month after reparative surgery (today).

Happy but Not Without Complications

I am in my mid-40s and had been wearing a size 36E, F bra. My stomach bothered me in my whole life and more so with age. So I elected to get the mommy makeover. Though I am happy with the results I have had issues since the procedure. Apparently my body doesn’t like and doesn’t dissolve the stitches. I want to share my experience because I feel that all the experiences I’ve read about the only those that are success from start to finish. My doctor did a great job, I would do it again, but there has been struggle and I will need repair. Surgery was in third week of February 2022. Everything was perfect until about week six. At that point I noticed changes in the abdominal scar. Here’s a timeline from that point to June 2022.

Did you go see a doctor week 7!? Why is it getting worse?
Yes I had weekly follow ups. It’s healing now but spots open up because it is my body’s way of getting rid of the stitches that are supposed to dissolve. For some reason my body won’t dissolve them and rejects them. Still following up with my doctor regularly. I have become better at managing them also to prevent them from getting worse as they appear.
