Two weeks down!
I'm 2weeks post op and last week I had one of the liposuction incisions leak. It was leaking for 2 days and I called Dr Gutowski. He immediately had me schedule an appt. He was currently in an office further from my home and would be in the office closer to my home the next day. I could have had someone drive me to the office same day, however, opted to wait the following day to be seen. Of course when I went in, the leakage stopped. Why does it seem to always work that way? lol He was very personable and understanding of my concerned. There was no need for further interventions and he did an ultra sound to ensure I had no collection of fluids anywhere. Fortunately, there was none. For the 2 week follow up, the tape to the incision and belly button were taken off and the sites cleansed and new tape placed on. So far so good! I'm no longer in pain and am able to stand upright. I do have some burning sensation and nerve pain along with tightness to the abdomen, which is normal. It's also uncomfortable to sleep at night, as I enjoy sleeping on my stomach. Plus my BBL has it so I have pillows still to my lower back and thighs. I'm a bit concerned about the fat taking to my buttocks, however, only time will tell.
POD5
Ok I’m not sure why I titled the other one POD 4&5, when today is actually day 5. Sometimes your days just run into each other. Things are much better today. I am still walking hunch over, but more upright, and I have my follow up appt tomorrow. I went with a drainless tummy tuck and I cannot take this faja off for 7 days. I was told I can shower with it on but am afraid it will irritate my skin more if I do that. So instead, I’ve been doing a bird bath nightly. It’s doable, especially since I’m able to pee standing up and keep my urine pretty contained so it doesn’t get on the faja. Ladies, you know how sometimes your pee comes out like a sprinkler? I’ll let y’all know how the appt goes tomorrow!
POD 4&5
The pain is much better. Staggering my medication helped a lot as well as walking frequently to get the blood flowing. You can’t really see from the pics the difference but there you go
