How on Earth Did You Finally Pick a Doctor!?!

hb40
WORTH IT$20,000
I am really struggling settling on a doctor. I’m closer to Indy, but have found a couple Chicago doctors I like. A couple in Indy too. All I am looking at have appropriate credentials, so just trying to narrow down by “style”. Also wondering if I Am I crazy to go 3 hours away for such an invasive procedure? How did you finally narrow down and pick a doctor? The Brest lift portion is very important to me so I have been looking at a ton of pics of those, but need to just pick a doctor already. Any advise appreciated.

I live in Chicago. Do you want to share their names with me? I’m pretty knowledgeable of the ps’ in the Chicago land area.

I am seriously thinking it will be Dr. Otto Placik. I have tried to find someone a little closer in Indianapolis, and there are a few, but when looking at pics and reading reviews I really like his work and he has great reviews. I am absolutely open to any suggestions as well. Thanks!

I went with the Dr who was board certified but also the one who had the best after pictures and reviews. Price didn’t matter to me. It’s a big procedure and you get what you pay for. 3 hours isn’t too bad of a drive. I would stay in a hotel overnight a couple days first though before you head home. Good luck to you!

Thank you! You look great! Thank you for documenting your journey so completely. It’s very helpful and makes me really excited to finally do this after years procrastination.

Consults Scheduled

hb40
I finally narrowed it down to 3 doctors and have consults scheduled. I have wanted to do this for as long as I can remember and I always somehow manage to talk myself out of it. I am so excited to meet the doctors I have chosen. This was the hump that I couldn't seem to get over previously, but now it's moving, no stopping now. Hoping once I decide, I can get my date in December. That is critical in allowing me to do this.
Docs I picked if anyone has any knowledge on any of them:
Dr. Placik - Chicago
Dr. Shifrin - Chicago
Dr. Wagner - Indianapolis
Thanks!

I'm excited for you! It was hard for me to get to actually booking a consultation too! I researched and thought about it for years and also tried to talk myself out of it. Congratulations on choosing your surgeon and scheduling your surgery!

Thank you! They needed up moving it up a week to December 7th so it’s getting close! I am trying to get all my Christmas shopping done before the end of next month so lots to do to keep me occupied until then!

Mommy Makeover on my 47th birthday, December 14th!

I went for my consult with Dr. Placik, and I knew within the first 5 minutes that he was going to be my doctor. He was great. Very honest and direct, which I really relate to. I felt completely comfortable with him and his nurse. I scheduled a extended tummy tuck, lipo, breast lift with an ideal implant. I am so excited. I need to try to loose a couple pounds so I can have a little more loose skin on my abdomen before December. I may need the separate incision for my existing bellybutton since it is freakishly high LOL. Hopefully creating a little more lose skin, will help eliminate that possibility. Everyone in his office was very nice and they were all patient with me and all my questions. I never felt rushed in any way.
