you look great here! swollen for sure but that will go away with time! hoping work is going smoothly for you!
speaking or work
lol speaking of your I’m headed to the field now for 2 weeks of training
oh my! I know you said your military. when you say training do you mean physical training?!
I’m lifting my bag but that’s about all. I won’t be actually conducting any rigorous type of training. However I will be on my feet a lot.
ok phew! being on your feet will be enough though! hoping your swelling stays at a minimum :/
I hope so too. I brought turmeric with me. But my unit knows I had surgery and I’m senior so I’m only going to do what I can and not stress my body.
sounds perfect!
You look great and yes the swelling will go away it gets better day by day. Take it easy and happy Healing ❤️

OMG Drains are out!!!!

Today has been one stressful day. Finally I had my drains taken out but with a lot of strings attached. Let me first say that I’m in the military I thought the process would be much easier but boy was I wrong.
So I go in to see my PCM this afternoon. I get there and was then told they won’t be taken out because they don’t specialize in drain care. A consult was then put in for me to see Surgery Care for tomorrow at 0800 and I was also given additional medication for my pain management.
Me being me I decided to go pay Surgery Care a visit today to see if I would be taken care of for the following day or if I just needed to take out the drains myself. I get there and was asked a thousand questions ( mind you I was cleared through the military for surgery). I was again told they don’t usually see/work on patients who was operated on by another surgeon. So I’m like but I’m Active duty so that shouldn’t matter (because I cannot be denied treatment). Anywho they take me back and take out these dang drains.
My right side was fine. It hurt a bit when the Doc was cutting the stitches but that was it. But my left side Jesus.........that ish hurt like no other. My skin had started to grow close to the stitches so he had to push my skin back first then try and get to the stitches OMG. Not mention the drain on my left side was sooo long that it went up to my bra line and was sticking out of my stomach. During my post op appointment I asked what it was sticking out and I was told it was my muscle. Come to find out it was the drain. So right now I’m in pain from the drain being pulled from my left side. It’s like I can feel it in my muscles the pathway in which the drain was pulled from. On a good note t least it wasn’t my muscle that was sticking out but that was painful. I’ll be giving myself a massage tonight and putting on my stage 1 tonight.

Day 8 Photos

Attached are my Day 8 Photos. I’m feeling better everyday. I’m so happy I finally went through with getting my MM. I’ve brought every possible device, pill, tea, waist trainer, ab belt there is and after 2 years of not seeing results I knew it had to be something wrong with my stomach. I went to Dr. Ortega knowing I had muscle separation (after doing my research) but after my surgery he said for me to be so small I had an extensive muscle separation. I ended up receiving an extended tummy tuck.

Looking fantastic! I saw your question on kumoki's post, about drain removal. You could go to an emergency clinic, like a Patient's First, or something like that, if you have one nearby, and have them do it, or even your primary Drs office. You don't have to see your Dr, a nurse or NP can do it. At the very least, please have someone with you when it's done; it's not painful at all, but you do feel a slight sensation as it's pulled. Many people have a vagal response, and get very dizzy and can pass out. You shouldn't be alone. wish you continued happy healing!
Thank you! I’m in the military so I’ll probably just go to my PCM and have them removed. I will be sure to bring someone along.
You look fantastic!!
Thank you! I’m so ready to get these drains out so I can put on my garment.
You look great as well. I hope you’re feeling better. I see that you are going through a lot. I hope you over come this. Just know things will get better. You made the right decision to get this done for you.
Thank you for that!! I am struggling ATM, looking for a wound care specialist in my area now.
I’m praying for you hunny.
Good evening. How are you feeling today?
glad to hear you are doing well! you’re waist is starting to show some shape too! can’t wait to see the final results! you are looking great so far! :)
Thank you!!!! I’m getting these drains taken out tomorrow. I’m so frustrated with these things. I’ll post more pictures soon. Just haven’t been feeling my best.
hang in there! the first month for me was so up and down-emotionally and physically. one day I’d feel great and the next I was a hot mess lol! the drains out will def give you some relief and make you feel more normal! good luck tomm!
Thanks for the encouraging words. I’m sure I’ll do a 360 tomorrow once I can finally get rid of these things.
yes it feels magical when they are out lol!
