Don’t go to Edith

After sleepless nights of doing my research about Doctors I ran into Dr. Smiley’s IG page and fell in love with his work. Some of the things that attracted me to Dr. Smiley was that he was trained by the best (Dr. Miami) and how Dr. Smiley isn’t just a surgeon he is also an artist. I have two children and in need of a mommy over which is a tummy tuck and a breast lift with implants. I went ahead and booked a $300 consultation with Dr. Smiley in is Beverly Hills office and I spoke with Edith. Edith was the sweetest person and asked me to ask for her upon arrival. After I saw Dr. Smiley, Edith took me into her office. She quoted me at 21,900 and gave me a $1,000 discount this price would include upper and lower back lipo, axilla lipo, Tummy Tuck, Breast lift with implants. At first, I thought it was a little pricey but heyyyy it’s going to be performed by Dr. Smiley. I had Edith break down the price for me by procedure on the proposal just, so I would know exactly how much each procedure was going to run for. I agreed and made my deposit payment. The deposit is $1,000 and the $300 I spent on the consultation goes towards your surgery. Edith was very consistent with sending me photos of previous patients that had gotten a tummy tuck from Dr. Smiley. I would send her questions about the surgery and she answered all my questions. As soon as I asked her about the difference between implants she told me that implants would run me $2,000 more. I let her know that the doctor and I discussed implant and that it was in the proposal she sent me. Edith: “Bebe, I did not include the implants in the quote. You said you did not want implants.” At this point I’m thinking how maybe she did make a mistake, or it wasn’t communicated. I agreed on the price of $21,900 and paid my deposit so I was not going to pay more money. Edith told me she would talk to the doctor to see what he could do. Never got anything back from her and when I went recently to see the Doctor again for implant sizing, I was taken back to Edith’s office and AGAIN “Bebe, I made a mistake and I didn’t add your back lipo…. It’s going to be $4,000 more. It’s my fault sweetie”. I’m not sure how this lady gets paid, but it sure felt like she wanted to take advantage of me. This behavior is unethical and unprofessional! I am really considering finding another doctor at this point. Don’t have Edith Help you! She will make your experience miserable!
