Coming full circle...
WORTH IT$16,750
Hello RSer’s... I’ve spied on all of you long enough! It’s time to put myself out there. I am a 45 y/o, happily married, mother of 1. My journey truly began in 2016 when I made the decision to have VSG surgery. I have battled with my weight for as long as I can remember. I’ve always been an emotional eater and being overweight caused me to be depressed, which caused me to eat more... What a vicious cycle. My VSG surgery was 9/26/16 and by April 2017, I was at my goal weight of 135 lbs. (I am 5’6” tall). I have stayed in the 135 - 140 range since. I keep myself in shape with yoga and weight training but my hard work is not visible due to the skin that is literally, “hanging” around. My self esteem received a big boost from the weight loss alone. However, being born, raised and still residing in South Florida, I REALLY want the body I know is hiding under that skin so I can wear a bikini confidently.
I am ready to bring this journey full circle. . I am scheduled for a Mommy Makeover (TT & BL/BA) 11/12/18 with Dr. Charles A Messa in Weston. I’m so excited but at this point I feel like I went to my consultation under prepared and I want a redo. I’m completely happy with my surgeon choice but I have a list of questions. All the questions running through my head may be answered at the pre-op appointment, but I want to make sure. I’ve decided to call the Surgical Coordinator (who is AWESOME, BTW) Monday to see if the doctor will be part of the pre-op visit or if I should make an additional appointment to speak with him in greater detail.

Hi -- fellow south Floridian here! your results look amazing!!!! I am currently booked for the same surgery elsewhere after losing 85 pounds from sleeve surgery. Did you consult with a lot of south florida surgeons or just knew he was your guy right away?

He was actually the only surgeon I met with, but I researched A LOT of surgeons. My primary doctor recommended Dr. Messa when he had to treat me for a skin infection caused by my loose belly skin. My primary doctor's wife, daughter and practice manger all had work done by Dr. Messa that they loved and when I met him, I just knew he was the right surgeon for me.

Thank you so much for the reply. As of now I am schedule with Lenny Roudner. I am very nervous and getting cold feet.

I feel like it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Since I scheduled like 9 months in advance, I started to get cold feet as the date became closer so I asked for the doctor to talk to me for a few minutes at my pre-op appointment. He was more than happy to see me, which totally put my last minute nerves to rest.

Questions
I spoke with the Surgical Coordinator today (she is still awesome), she said I should be able to see Dr. Messa when I go for my Pre-op in October, and noted my appt accordingly.
I have questions spinning around in my head, some days more than others... Like, should I get the tummy tuck that goes all the way around or is hip to hip gonna be enough? I mean I did lose 90 lbs ???????????. I’m at 138 lbs now but I’m thinking about getting down to 125 before the surgery. I haven’t decided yet.
I’m just excited and this will be the longest 4 1/2 months of my life....

Hi clalon3? Thank you! I really just needed assistance the day of and the day after because I was a little dizzy upon standing. I do recommend a lift chair and a walker. I don’t think I could’ve done that first week in my bed.

Better pics
I’m just uploading the before VSG and after VSG pics separately since the single image of both cropped a little weirdly.

You look great and I know the feeling of wanting to make the hard work show. There are so many times I wish the mommy makeover recovery was quicker. So. Much. Quicker. ...but I haven't regretted it. I haven't healed yet but am already feeling that boost of confidence. And confidence shines through everything! Good luck on your journey, I'm rooting for you!
