Sleepless nights
I have NOT been getting any sleep lately, not even a nap. I been sleeping on the sofa for about a week now and no luck there. The recliner feels so uncomfortable to me now, so I tried my new Lull mattress, and still no sleep. It’s 5:21a on July 4th and I haven’t been to sleep since July 3rd, 3:30a. My guess is, I cant get comfortable because I’m a side sleeper. Yup, since a baby I been sleeping on my side. “So, I’m going to test the water and see if its warm.” I sleep on my left side therefore, I’m going to use my body pillow and see if that makes a difference in comfort. Well, good night for me and good morning to others :)

I have to take Tylenol pm or plain Benadryl to sleep. Friday I didn't take any and was up all night....now I just take it so I can sleep it's crazy....

July 6, 2020
The same for me!!! I just be sitting there if I DONT take anything. Yesterday, I had a busy day. I went to Whole Foods, Walmart and visit my dad. My dad lives 45 to 50 minutes away, so I didn't get home till midnight and Still didn't go to sleep till 2a. Crazy.

July 6, 2020
LOl I wonder why? I surely slept a ton a few weeks ago though

July 7, 2020
Me too! Last night was the first night I actually went to sleep by midnight. How's sleeping in the bed, have you become use to it ?

July 7, 2020
It's fine. I waited for nearly a month. I tried after two weeks and I lasted 3 hours. I knew I was ready when I woke up on my side in the recliner lol. I can sleep flat on my back and on either side with a pillow in between my knees. I just have to change positions slowly. I am less swollen in the morning after lying in the bed....did you take medicine to sleep?

July 7, 2020
Lol. I knew I was ready when I did the same thing but on the sofa. Now that I think about it, I did. I took two benadryl's because my boyfriend cleaned my tt incision and put new silicone sheets on it, and it freaked me out. I don't like bugs, or anything that have to do with incisions or blood. (I still can't watch a birth video and I have two kids!! LOL). The next day after the surgery, I went to see the Dr and he asked if I had any questions or wanted to see pictures of what he took out and I said no, maybe three months from now but not right now. When I came home I couldn't even look at my own incisions for the first week. I remember crying in the shower four days ago because it felt like I couldn't get clean enough so I ordered me a new exfoliate brush and wash from target. And that was the first day I drove to pick it up and re-washed as soon as I got in, I felt 100% better.

Omg you're squeamish and your man is a nurse! Hilarious but Same thing in my house. I'm an RN and hubby hates blood too..

July 8, 2020
Omgs ! Lol. That's so funny. How was he helping you ? And do you still have bruising? I do.

How long is your surgery last? Were you scared going in and waking up?

July 9, 2020
Hey Meagan. I had to be at the surgery center by 6:30a. The nurse told me he didn't begin my surgery till 10a and I was done by 1:30p. I woke up at around 2, from what I can recall. I was super scared, even now during recovery I'm still nervous. What are you getting done?
July 9, 2020
I am having a tummy tuck, lipo and a breast augmentation... are you just nervous about complications?

July 9, 2020
You can stay. I had a tt, Lipo and breast lift. Everyone body if different. I had a reaction to the pain medication they gave. I'm 3 weeks today and still not standing straight up...maybe at a 80% now...one my breast reopened and now I have to go BACK to the doctor office so he can check...oh and I had reaction to the silicone sheets I brought off Amazon. Everyone body heals differently and react differently. I had a csection 12 yrs ago, along with another birth the following yr, so I had a lot of muscle repair done. I think you would be just fine. Just listen to your body and don't rush your recovery.

Do your research and see everything you will need. Like: vitamins, recliner, water, some one told me to drink celery juice (that's really helps) , stool softer, you Might need a shower chair, comfortable pjd, sport bra that opens in the front, and your favorite movies & books.

Feeling Amazing. Thank You JESUS
Each day bring great progress. I'm not standing 100% up but I will soon. I took a shower today WITHOUT my chair!! Yay!!! Go Jesus!! You wouldn't understand how much I prayed during that stage of depression. I felt discouraged and defeated, but I had to remind myself who I was in God. Whatever your religion, stand Firm in it because I believe that will help you pull through, especially with a procedure like a tummy tuck.
What is my progress like now?
I'm able to comfortably walk up and down the steps
I have these Sharp pain here and there from the TT.
My food proportions are back to normal.
I'm sleeping flat (doctor requested me to)
My breast still hurts though :(
My took my surgical tape off :)
Standing up @ a 75/80 angle :)

I'm proud that you can sleep flat. I can't do it and still breathe I'm still in my recliner because I'm more comfortable there

June 30, 2020
Thanks! But you standing straight up, I can't do that and breathe haha ! I brought mines off of amazon, a little cheap one because it was used just for this and its so uncomfortable! I didn't think to rent one, that part I regret!
How's your healing coming along?

June 30, 2020
I have to remind myself to stand up straight. And at that I'm not totally erect but it is what it is I guess. I feel pretty good. Started using my scar treatment the silicone dressings. I just finished walking 1 mile and basically Just fighting the swelling

June 30, 2020
Oh I understand. I see the doctor this Wednesday to go over scar treatment. I ordered "Aroamas Professional Silicone Scar Removal Sheets" from Amazon this morning. This company had over 2,000 great reviews and a lot of before and after photos by many.
And Whoopee! One mile?! That's awesome. Did you walk on the treadmill or outside? And how did you feel afterwards? Is the swelling uncomfortable?
I can't wait to start walking again. It was such a stress relief!

July 2, 2020
That is awesome. I’m not quite standing straight up yet. I do still have occasional pain in tummy tuck area as well as tingling sensation in my breast too. But I’m not brave enough to shower yet but looking forward to being able to when the time is right back is still killing me how about you? But so glad the tubes are gone. They were the worse of my pain. Congratulations again on your progress.

July 15, 2020
Omgs! Yes to the back pins! How's your progress coming along, at you standing straight up yet? I'm at a 95% and at night, 90% from all the moving

July 15, 2020
Only standing up straight in a faja. But I have my good days and my bad days when it comes to trying to stand straight up. I’m probably at. 95% too. But I’m not rushing it. I’m allowing my body to let me know when it is ready. And the tingling hasn’t gone away at all either. Still but my period is due next week and this will be my first period after surgery. So I normally have breast tingling due to pre period pains I’m not sure what is what at this moment. How are you healing?

July 16, 2020
Yeah, the tingling haven't went away for me either; even after my period. But it sounds like our doing good and hard awesome! My healing going good. I started sleeping on my side and I noticed when I do, my incision becomes very sore. I try to sleep on my back as much as possible. I feel like my boobs and the each side of my tummy is taking the longest to heal. Oh, and my belly button looks like yours too haha. I know I'm not taking a bath till the end of August!! I'll continue with the showers.

July 16, 2020
Girl yes to the belly button!!! That’s is alway important. I too have tried sleeping in my side and like you the incision areas begin to throb like crazy. I am still sleeping in my recliner chair and I’ve noticed it’s better for me now as compared to sleeping in my soft bed that allows the weight in my body to do as it like. That added pressure from the weight of my body causes me to be in a lot of pain when I wake up in the morning. I literally need a hard non moving surface to sleep on. And yes I still blow dry myself and do not use a towel to dry.
