You look fantastic. I'm scheduled for 9/12 and have read everything you wrote and posted. You answered many questions for me. Thank you for taking the time to talk about your progress.
Awesome! I'm so happy to hear that some of my comments were helpful. I wish you the best of luck with your procedure! Please let me know how things go. I'm always here to answer any questions. :)
Is there anything you wish someone had told you before the surgery to prepare you for unexpected things? Anything you would suggest to help with feeling better in those 3-4 days after surgery?
I must say that I did a lot of research and read several reviews from other RealSelf members. That helped me prepare quite a bit. I had so many procedures done at the same time, that it was interesting to see which ones were a piece of cake and what was not. My breast aug, BBL and lipo was easy to deal with compared to the pain from the TT muscle repair. The accidental cough, sniff, or laugh was some of the most intense pain ever. Looking back- it was all worth it. Fitting in clothes the RIGHT way and having a new found level of confidence is where it's at!
Do you think it was the incision or the actual muscle repair that was hurting? I had natural childbirth so I do not know what a C-section feels like, but I did have surgery where they had to cut through my stomach muscles to repair my intestines (similar to cutting the abdomen for a c-section. I do remember that recovery pain and was wondering if that might be what is in store for me. Do you have a guess?
It was definitely the muscle repair. I had almost 3 inches of separation, so it was a lot of internal stitches and scar tissue forming in that area. It may be similar to what you experienced, just a larger section of your abdomen.
Ok, just trying to wrap my head around what to expect. Thank you for taking the time for me.....
You looking great.
Thank you so much. :)

7 month update

Still wearing silicone tape, but things are healing nicely. I feel a bit itchy right above my abdominal incision most days. My guess is that I’m just getting some feeling back in that area.

At 2 years post op I can still have moments of swelling. Usually if I’m on my feet all day, get my period, or eat really bad lol!
Oh wow. Yes, I really notice it after being on my feet all day or if I eat bad food. :)
You look great tho! I'll be 2 years post OP in July and still occasionally swell.
