400cc, moderate plus profile and mini tummy tuck for mom pooch

ORIGINAL POST

Mommy Make-over

MommaRN5
Child birth is beautiful, they say. And while I do agree the end result of a little human who makes your heart throb is certainly beautiful, the damage our bodies endure..(in my opinion) is not so much. So after having three of those little balls of joy glued to my boobs for the first year of their lives, my breasts have become a rather large self esteem crusher. And, my “mom pooch” doesn’t help matters either. So after YEARS of speaking it into existence (every person in my life has heard me say “I am getting a boob job some day” at least once) it is finally happening! I am finally in a spot to do it after working my tail off to “treat myself” for my 30th birthday. And a treat it will be, to finally have my confidence back. After much research and comparing/contrasting surgeons within a certain radius to home I found one whose work spoke to me. Right from their web page I emailed to request a consult. Within two days they emailed back and it was not the generic email you would expect that is sent out automatically to anyone with an inquiry, it was definitely more personal. And, with the information sent to me I reached out via telephone and was able to set up my first consultation. When arriving to the office my first impression of all the staff was warm and welcoming. As a woman who has been hiding her “mom bod” for ten years I was definitely nervous knowing I would have no choice but to show it now, but they definitely made this more comfortable than I had expected. I met with Dr. Graham first to talk about expectations where he explained to me/showed me different types of implants and what he used and why. He explained different types of incisions that are used and even drew some pictures. And to me this was huge as I am a registered nurse and am inquisitive when it comes to all the ins and outs. After we spoke, the nurse gave me a robe to change into and measuring would begin. (I dreaded this the first time, but it wasn’t as bad as I imagined) We decided the best option would be for a lift and implants and a mini tummy tuck for the mom pooch. At first I had opted for a 400cc high profile implant, but I had this consultation five months before I had actually wanted to have surgery and when I left I continued to research all about the types of profiles and actually liked the look of a moderate plus profile better. At my pre op appointment last week I mentioned this before we began doing “final measuring” and Dr. Graham was totally on board when I explained I liked the natural look better, so we tried on this type and decided we will be doing 400 cc moderate plus profile. And 300 cc is the second option if for some reason 400cc doesn’t quite fit my body type when he is placing them. Excited is an understatement, February 3 is the big day and although I am nervous the excitement trumps that ten fold. So far my experience with Dr. Graham and his entire staff has been 5/5 stars. Looking forward to my end result! Will post updates after surgery etc..this page has been so helpful to me, I look forward to being that help for someone else.

Good luck! I am having a tummy tuck on the 27th this month! I'm not doing the "mommy makeover" because I had a breast fat transfer a few years ago and I'm satisfied with those results. I have two children as well. May I ask why you are opting for a mini tummy tuck? The only reason I'm asking is I've seen very few women who are actually satisfied down the road with a mini tummy tuck. Especially if you've had children. What I've seen over and over again is that women complain that the upper part of their stomach then bulges, Particularly after they eat which it didn't do before the surgery. I'm not saying this to discourage you, rather just to make sure you are 100% sure you are making the right decision going with the mini as long as you are under anesthesia. I had liposuction because I was trying to avoid the tummy tuck incision and recovery but after spending so much money on Lipo and fat transfer I wish I had just gone with the full tummy tuck in the end. I wish you luck on your journey!

Good luck to you as well! When I had consulted with my surgeon and told him I was looking to have a tummy tuck I didn’t even realize there was such thing as a “mini”. But after examining me he stated it would be best to go with a mini because I don’t have “enough” extra skin to have a full, and if I wanted to move forward with a full tummy tuck it may cause me to have a scar that is higher than we would like. I do trust his judgement on this and have reviewed over and over the before and afters of his patients and their results continued to impress me, so I hope this isn’t an issue when it’s all said and done. I do appreciate your input! Again best of luck to you and I hope all goes well with your recovery!

9 days until surgery m, I hope!

Only 9 more days and I’m getting nervous. I’m not nervous about the surgery..I am nervous we may end up pushing it back :( I am a fully vaccinated RN..have been working with hospitalized covid patients since the beginning of the pandemic..and have NOT caught covid. Until now. Well 8 days ago, anyways. Looking back I started having the cough at work two days before I tested but chalked it up to not being able to breath great in my N95. I have been super vigilant to be careful and have planned this surgery since September(taking a month off to recover, the perks of travel nursing)..so this possible little wrench has me super freaked out. My covid test is a saliva sample I have to submit this Saturday coming up. Which I am now negative on home tests and only needed to quarantine for 5 days, but knowing what I know about PCRs and having cared for elderly patients testing positive for MONTHS...I am nervous! Hoping, praying, manifesting myself a negative test..is all I can do.

Surgery this morning!

So it’s all done! Got to the surgery center at 6:30, they called me back at 6:39 and I swear I was out cold by 7:30. Felt like I blinked and I was waking up to my surgeon telling me all was well and things went great. I was in my fiancé’s car by 2pm heading home. So we had the mastoplexy with aug (400cc moderate plus profile, I am 5’4 and 137-140 lbs in case anyone is looking to compare) and we did a tummy tuck. I can not say enough good things about Dr. Graham, him and his staff answered my daily texts for reassurance, they text last night concerned about weather and offered to get me a hotel room tonight even. Bedside manner is phenomenal and never once did I feel uncomfortable. And he is definitely a perfectionist..you can tell by his protocol and also the OR nurses let me know “he takes his time, he’s a bit particular”..this was before he even arrived. So yes, so far I do believe I picked the perfect surgeon..now for the fun part I can not unwrap until Saturday but I have pics all wrapped up!
