Smack dab in the middle of swell hell! Even my feet are swollen. I have been sleeping only a couple of hours at a time just because I can't stay comfortable. Still on the norco, but only taking one every 6 hours or so and supplementing with ibuprofen. I feel like I am 9 mths prego and about to pop. My incision is really low and my drains are right where i bend my hips to sit, so they are pretty irritated. My vagina and inner thighs are bruised and tender. Holy moly this is an interesting recovery lol! I am so happy my mom is here to help me with everything. I have been able to walk around quite a bit but then today, the swelling has knocked me down so I think I need to rest. I feel like a sausage all wrapped up in these binders! I am hoping all of this is normal??? Anyone have any advice? Drinking lots of water and taking milk of mag/colace to try to have a bm as well.
Mommy makeover
Hi everybody! I have been looking at this site for a few months now, patiently waiting my scheduled surgery date. It has been wonderful to read all of the encouraging remarks! I finally decided to share my story in hopes of helping someone else that is going through it. Sooooo here it goes:
I am 5'5" 128#. I work out at the gym around three times a week and I am in pretty good shape. I have two boys, 16 mths apart, ages 6 and 7. Those two did a number on my body of course. I have split abdominal muscles, an umbilical hernia, and really loose skin. I decided to work my tail off at the gym, eat right, live right, to see if I could get my belly to look some sort of semblance to normal. If that didn't work, I was planning on a TT. Well I went down to about 14-16% body weight at 119#, eating extremely clean, but all my belly did was get more wrinkly and That weight was too low for me. At that point, I really wanted to have the work done, but financially, I don't think our family could swing it and I felt guilty to take that money and time away for such a selfish thing to do. So I waited a few years until we were in a better spot and here I am, one day postop from TT and silicone breast aug by Dr. B. Criswell. I told him I didn't want [RS bleep] star boobs at all. I also wanted to be able to work out hard core without my tata's getting in the way. I gave him a range of 250-300 ml to work with. Ended up coming home with 275ml. In regards to the TT, I love string bikinis and haven't been able to wear one since my first rugrat. I asked him to put the incision as low as possible. He said the longer the incision is, the less likely it is to pucker. When it is small, all the extra skin has to be attached to that small area which increases the risk of puckering. He said it would go away but if it didn't, he could snip the sides (dog ears) off in the office. I went with a longer incision but he still did a great job!!! Really low:). Yesterday after surgery, i don't remember them getting me dressed lol. I was really sore in my fun bags but it was basically like I did a really intense chest workout. My abdomen is numb (he uses exparel) and I have two drains. I went home, slept, took pills, slept, etc. today i walked around more and was able to tale a shower. When I was taking the the TT binder off, that was probably the sickest I have felt so far. Just dizzy and nauseous and shakey i sat on the side of the bed and let it pass. The shower felt great! I was able to go downstairs and have dinner with the fam as well. I will keep updating and thanks for listening!!
