Updating my 5 Star Review
I have had many surgeries with Dr. Moelleken including a body lift, breast lift, brachioplasty fractora and skin tightening. I left him a 5 star review a while ago and said I would never go to any other surgeon.
Unfortunately, that has all changed for me. I would not under any circumstances have another surgery or procedure with Dr. Moelleken and nor would I refer a friend or family to him.
About three years ago, Dr. Moelleken suggested that he could revise a face-lift I had 6 years prior.
He said he could make me look less "done" So, I had a full face-lift revision with Dr. Moelleken on December 28, 2016. Shorty after the surgery, I developed a serious infection on the right side of my face. I was told that I had "gram negative rods including e-coli" in my cheek. I had to have the infection drained in a second surgery and took antibiotics and multiple steroid shots to help me heal.
I was devastated with the outcome of Dr. Moelleken's face-lift revision. I ended up with my right eye pulled down and the right side of my mouth pulled up. The "live-fill" that was transferred to my cheek became saggy and irregular. I looked like a monster ( in my opinion and that of close friends and family)
I had many post op visits and e-mail conversations with Dr. Moelleken. He did not want to do much to help me but suggested a "little more" live-fill" in my cheek and a ptosis repair on my eye. Subsequently, I consulted with several prominent surgeons here in Beverly Hills who all said that the only thing that would work for me was another full face-lift revision
I chose a surgeon in West LA named Dr. Farhad Ardeshipour On January 30, 2019 ( almost eaxctly two years after Dr. Moelleken's surgery) I yet again had full face-lift revision. The results are amazing. Finally, I can look at myself in the mirror and not flinch when I see a picture of myself. I truly feel that I have a new lease on life.
Yes, Dr. Moelleken has great reviews. If you have a good outcome after surgery with Dr. Moelleken, then you should be very happy. If, like me, you have an unacceptable outcome, then you might find yourself fighting for Dr. Moelleken to give you straight answers and help you through to the end of the repairs you need. My greatest disappointment was that Dr. Moelleken promised me that he would always stay with me until I was completely satisfied with my surgery. I believed him 100%. What I experienced was that Dr. Moelleken was guarded and defensive, did not really want to acknowledge any problems and wanted to do the minimum he could to appease me and finish with me.
Dr. Moelleken's last comment to me when I left his office was "You look pretty good for a women of your age" What I heard was "stop complaining old lady and be satisfied with what I am willing to do for you." I felt insulted and dismissed.
It is for these reasons that I am taking back my five stars.

I wish I could give Dr. Moelleken 100 stars instead of 5. It did the most amazing corrections on botched body surgery. And a wonderful facelift revision. He is out of this world talented. Also, he is kind, compassionate and honest. I will NEVER go to anyone else. Marion
