8 weeks post-op and results just keep getting better!

I had a follow up appointment last week and was given the green light to both workout as I’d like, AND decide for myself whether or not to keep wearing the compression garment. It’s really been such a mood booster for me. I’m working back into it all trying to be careful, but getting back into hiit and strength training is just sooo nice. And I’ll be honest, I’m not wearing compression gear during the day anymore, but always at night still. It just feels so good to not have all the extra layering going on. I will say though, I’ve included a pic of one of my favorite purchases with this whole ordeal; it’s a compression tank top. I wear it every night under my compression wrap that was given to me after surgery, or just during the day on it’s one, as it actually gives a decent amount of compression on its own, and it’s really quite comfortable. I HIGHLY suggest purchasing yourself one or a couple, if you’re having a tummy tuck done. It’s soft and just protects your skin from rubbing against the compression wrap. I ordered mine on Amazon, and loved it so much, I bought another.
My scars are healing pretty well too. It’s hard being patient with that part though, as it’s smack in the middle of my tummy. My doctor also said at my appointment last week that I still have swelling in my abdomen in the space right around my belly button and between my obliques, which I was glad to hear is swelling and should continue to improve, as I just thought that was how it was gonna be. It makes me excited to see how things continue to improve. I’ll update again in 2-4 months!

Modified Mini Tummy Tuck W/muscle Repair

At 4 weeks post-op now, I figured I’d start documenting my surgery and showing my recovery so far. First off, let me say, I totally underestimated the amount of pain involved in a mini tummy tuck. I think a majority of it is due to the muscle repair, so if you’re getting one without it, maybe it wouldn’t be as painful. He actually did what he called a “modified” mini tummy tuck, to get a little more muscle repair done right around the belly button and tighten the skin more. Because of this I have both an incision low on my abdomen and just under my belly button and around it. The lower incision is healing great; nice and thin so far. I hope the incision under my belly button starts healing more flat here soon. I feel like it’s not laying very flat, and that part has me a bit worried. Overall though, I feel like I’m healing very well. I just can’t wait until I can get back to working out like I like, and start sculpting my midsection even more. The only thing that I would say is a con, is that I kinda feel like my aftercare is not quite as involved as I would like. After my surgery I wasn’t seen again until 2 weeks post-op and my next appointment isn’t until 6 weeks post-op. I would just feel a little more at ease if I could see the dr more often to get reassurance that a couple of my concerns are ok.
