Modified Lip Lift Revision
I had a lip left Ten Years Ago by a surgeon in Boca Raton Florida. His initials were O. R. The immediate result was nice, but now, ten years later, I had a redundancy of skin under my columela where the scar had fallen. I also had a smile shaped crease Under the skin redundancy. My objective in having this lip lift was too revise the scar and remove the skin redundancy with its underlying crease.
I had the surgery yesterday. I am now 36 hours.. I drove home seven and a half hours immediately following the surgery. I was blessed to have a good friend who drove me home after driving me there and staying with me. My dear friend took one look at me as I walked out of the operating room and I could tell by the way her face lit up that it was a success. Hey, by the way, is also a retired nurse like myself. Not only that, but her husband was a general surgeon at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Needless to say, we know our stuff. University tonight, 36 hours post op, I am slightly swollen and am in no pain whatsoever. I found that I had to take a total of 1.5 pain pills, I took a half of a pain pill as a local anesthesia was wearing off, another last night when I got home to help me sleep, and half of one this morning. Glue and the purple surgical marker markings are visible and intact. The incident lines will be visible after the glue comes off on its own in a few days. The Redundant skin and the crease are gone to my delight. So far it looks like he did a great job and I could not be happier at this time. I will try to load some photographs. One was taken earlier last summer. I hope you can see the redundant skin and crease that I am talking about. I had asked dr. Rodriguez to take the least amount of skin in the process of revising this car and fixing the problem. I believe we ended up removing 1.5 mm. I started out with a lip length of 1.3 cm. I'm kind of sleepy so I'll let you do the math. I love dr. Rodriguez and all of his staff. I recommend them two thumbs up and five stars. I will post more pictures as I heal. All the best to you.
2 full days out now. No pain or oozing. Minimal swelling. Got a nice phone call from Dr. Rodriquez personally checking on me bef

Modified Lip Lift for Lip Lift Revision
I had the surgery on Wednesday Dec. 1st. It went well and was not painful after the initial local injection, which was easily tolerated. Today is Saturday. The incision remains clean and dry. The notable swelling is resolved. No pain at all. The crease and redundant skin which were a result of my previous lip lift in Boca Raton are gone as I'd hoped for. I now almost wish we'd made the crescent incisions along the nare basel to uplift the skin lateral to the philtrum.
At 4 months we will probably discuss doing a follow up if needed to uplift the skin lateral to the pilgrim. This procedure is still fresh and will settle over the following weeks and months. Thus far I am absolutely delighted that Dr. Rodriguez was able to eliminate the crease and redundant skin beneath the columella. Can't wait for the glue and sutures to fall away and the skin underneath to heal and settle. Oh well... Tincture of time now.
