Today I am 19 days post op. I had a full tummy tuck, no mr, lipo on flanks and thighs. Lipo 2,325 cc's, skin 1,487 grams. I am 7 pounds down from surgery, but still cannot fit into any of my clothes pre op. I am 48 years old and have 3 children. I thought I was having mr also. My ps told me my muscles looked good and I am pron to infection he decided not to do mr, he reassured me it would not of made difference. I feel my before and after pics do not look much different. My tummy is flatter, but I feel wider and rounder. I am afraid I am not going to be happy with the results and wasted a lot money for little results. I hope this is just me being impatient and not the final result. I feel like fat blob that cannot fit into anything. I am walking 3 miles a day now and doing some light weights. Hoping to help get back into shape and my clothes. Frustrated and disappointed so far with my results. Wearing a binder 24/7, eating low carb and drinking tons of water. Anyone else have tt with no mr and happy with their results?

I am 16 days post-op & still experiencing lots of swelling. (I look like I'm 6 months pregnant.) It gets a little tough, because we want to wear regular clothes and get out of the house, but I think that is normal.

I'm also 16 days PO and am still seeing lots of swelling. I've noticed that the swelling is a lot less when I wear my compression garment. Maybe consult your PS about wearing a garment that gives more compression than the binder :). Good Luck

Of course consult with your Dr. What you're feeling is totally normal both physically and mentally. I'm 9 months po and I still have swelling at the end of the day. This is major surgery and can take up to 2 years to see your full results. Salt, alcohol and gassy foods make me swell even more. Mentally every one goes through a period of doubt after any surgery of this kind. It was several months before I was able to fit back into my pre op clothes though you wouldn't know that by looking at me. This is all normal. You look great! Every day will get better. You are still very, very early in your recovery. :)

At 4 weeks I noticed a real difference. Don't overdo the exercise. I insisted on an MR. I was only about an inch and a half seperated. As for your pics... You look great. Give it another week or 3 and you'll start noticing the difference more and more.

Thank you so much for the encouragement I appreciate it.

Everything I have read, (including an abdominoplasty text book!) says how you look is absolutely normal for only 3 wks post op. It really is six months at best, and as others have written, the biggest difference may not be fully apparent for a year! Also, the "despair" and depression about it all is apparently normal too. I haven't have mine yet (2 more days) but I expect to feel just as you do. I bought maternity clothes size XL for the first 3 to 4 months! (Hoping I'm too negative but figuring looking for less will not be so disappointing with the initial few months.

Best of luck to you. You sound like you have done your homework. If you have any questions or concerns, let me know. Hang in there, it gets better and it will be worth it on the end
