WORTH IT
Here I am almost 2 years post op (in June) and I can’t believe how fast the time went. Hands down the best decision I made for myself. Am I perfect, no nobody is, but I am very happy. Anyone looking to have this done, just do your research, be sure to ask questions, and make sure to feel comfortable with your dr of choice. I think that’s what finalized my decision. The first meeting I had with my dr, she made me feel very comfortable which gave me a good vibe (Dr. Tammy Wu at Surgical Artistry btw ;) ) I’ve posted a few current pics. Please feel free to reach out to me or anyone who’s been on this journey. Trust me, it helps!

Was it worth it? 100% Yes! It’s been awhile since my last update. Here are a few pics. I’m not thrilled with myself as far as not exercising a lot sooner. I’ve recently jumped back into it and plan on sticking to it. I want defined abs, sculpted arms and thighs, and a tight booty. Still, so much better than before! Hit me up if you have any questions during your journey. I’d be happy to help. ;)

You look great! Just bumped into your review... I’m scheduled with Dr. Wu as well for this Monday for a tummy tuck/lipo, and I’m really getting the jitters. Were you really nervous when you went in for the surgery? Do you have any advice? Thanks
Thank you! That’s awesome! ! I just love Dr.Wu. I was nervous right before surgery. It hit me more when they started prepping me, but they gave me something to relax which helped tremendously.
My advice is to just relax and let your people take care of you during post op. Don’t push yourself too much, lots of rest, and keep on your medication schedule. You’ll do great! Can’t wait to see pics. Let me know if you have any other questions. Best of luck!
Thanks for the advice... hope my scar will fade as nicely as yours! My blood pressure’s been way up for days just from the stress of what’s coming up, and I’ve never had that happen before. How did you deal with no showers while you had the drains? Dr. Wu just told me about that and I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do to keep semi-clean
I am very pleased with how my scars turned out. I used the Scar Away silicone scar strips which seemed to help too. My belly button scar is a little more pink but I didn’t expect perfection. As long as you go in with the that mindset, you’ll be good. Nothing against the doctor, It all comes down to how your body heals.
Yes, I know gross right? No shower for at least 2 weeks. I took sponge baths and relied on dry shampoo. It was like I was camping. But that first shower you get to take after your drains are out is like one of the best!
Hi, just wanted to check in. How is everything going for you? How are you feeling?
Hi, I had the surgery on Monday the 8th. I was terrified and it was a miracle I made it through being so scared :). The first day was very tough and I kept throwing up. Nothing they gave me helped to stop the vomiting until one of the nurses actually called Dr. Wu and she told him to give me a shot of something which stopped it instantly. She is very knowledgeable, you can just tell she is confident and experienced and I am thankful to have had her do this for me.
After a couple of days I stopped taking the Norco and just kept up with Valium and Acetaminophen and I actually did really well, not much pain.
The recovery has been very steady and today they took the last drain off. I'm so happy I went through with this. She found an umbilical hernia during the surgery which after being repaired may or may not mean that my belly button may not take. I honestly don't care because it was so messed up looking before I'm already so pleased with the results of everything else. There's a lot of black crusty stuff on it right now so we couldn't tell if it was ok or not. That first shower will reveal a lot :)
I should post a review somewhere in this site so others can know what a great doctor she is.
Thank you so much for checking in.
Awww man, I’m so sorry you ended up being sick. That was one of my biggest fears, especially after a surgery like that. I hope everything goes well with your belly button healing. It takes time but I was the same way, was so happy with the results and still am. So glad I did it. Dr Wu is great! I would recommend her to anyone. :) Keep on truckin. Happy healing!
Hi! I saw that you asked a question about swelling during around 7 months. Looks like the dr said it could possibly be that your top abdomen relaxed or there was a small amount of fat. I’m about 7 months post and my stomach looks very similar to yours. What helped you to lose that swelling as you continue to recover? You look absolutely amazing
Thanks so much! I found that it would be worse when I ate more sodium or carbs. It still does it but goes away. I’m just glad it wasn’t permanent. Congratulations on your makeover!
