Hi, I have had rosacea on my face for many years...

Hi,
I have had rosacea on my face for many years which i have laser treatments to remove. The first set of 3, with a touch-up every 2 years does the trick. I used the VBeam laser. I noticed my face felt great after each treatment (after the bruising went away!). I decided to try something different, as I've been told that too much laser can cause skin whitening or blotches. After a great amount of research i decided to try PRP. There were many clinics in Mississauga performing this procedure but what I wanted was the best equipment -the U225 Meso injection gun which can perform the puncture and inject the platelets very quickly. There are clinics using "pens" and just wiping on the Platelet serum from the centrifuge -like filling in the holes -this I did not want.
I found two places in Mississauga that had equipment and I booked a consultation with a place called MDA Medical Aesthetics Institute on Dundas Street. After discussing the procedure and what to expect I went ahead. I filled out a medical questionnaire with the nurse who was doing the procedure. This was forwarded to a doctor, who then asked some questions, making sure i didn't take blood thinners, etc within the last 48 hrs. After getting the go-ahead -my face/neck was prepped/cleaned and blood was drawn and centrifuged. The yellowish portion of the blood was loaded into the gun and the procedure began. The think I like about this injection gun is each time it is used -I new "kit" must be unwrapped for each patient -less chance of contamination in my opinion. The nurse started slowly and adjusted the depth and injection amount based on the areas I wanted treated --I wanted full face, neck area and forehead including an inch or two into my slight receding hairline. The procedure took over 1 hour and she said there would be over 5000 injection points. She explained that each injection site is a small "wound" which has PRP injected to speed healing and increase the amount of collagen.
I knew all this with my research -I wouldn't be doing it I didn't think it wouldn't work -I understand aging equals a loss of collagen!
It took about 2-3 weeks after my first treatment to notice that my skin was certainly "different" and especially my neck area. I had increased peeling of skin -it would tighten up -look bad -and then peel off -lol. My face during these weeks had the feeling of small "tingles" every once in awhile -not sure if it was related -but it certainly was not something that was happening before.
I have now just finished by third treatment and plan on having at least 6 months worth. Each treatment causes the skin to "look bad" for about a week -some bumps, occasional very small bruise, and little pin pricks for a couple of days. Once the healing starts and new skin comes out --I look smoother each time -but it is a process -treat-look bad-new skin -look younger-lol. You will look a mess going home right after -the nurse said I should not wash my face until the morning -so you basically have these small blood drops on your face driving home.

The nurse told me that the majority of there male clients are referred from hair replacement places -the PRP supposedly extends the length of time the new hair stays active and alive.

Anyways that is it -for the price and what it did for me -well worth it!
