Hello there! Great job! My BF is 15 days post op with sleeve and just the sight of the protein shake container gives him the dry heaves. We got a sample of bariatric fusion soup with protein from the NUT today and they said get your protein from food or try other shake brands. We're going to try the soup for now. Bariatric Pal has a line of soups with protein and we've ordered those online. I'm sure there's other ways to get your protein in other than shakes. Best of luck to you!!

Oh how familiar this is. I had surgery almost 9 months ago so I still remember it all. I too had issues with not getting in protein or liquid for several months. I was losing a lot of weight and at about month four stsrted with hair loss. My best advice is to keep trying. Like with exercise where you can only go a mile and each day add a little and then suddenly you're doing it! I now with 153 from 225. My clothes are so fly! I made the mistake of buying a lot too soon and before I could wear it more than once it was too big. So go slow with that. My goal is 135. Almost there but at this point the weight is coming off super slow. I regretted surgery the first six months. I really mourned my old way of soothing myself with food. Olive Garden commercials brought me to tears. Now? Life is so good. I sleep better. Blood pressure is near normal. I don't do caffeine or Fifa or bread or much sugar. Well the occssion peanut butter cup does get consumed but as s treat not all the time. I found slim fast high protein low sugar shakes delicious and my surgeon found them acceptable too. Hair loss has stopped as well. As I approach one year soon all I can say is why didn't I do this sooner. Very best to you. Shawn.

Who did your surgery? I wish I could help with advice, but I'm not there yet. Did your doctor suggest any support groups?

Dr Girod in Hattiesburg!! He's amazing!!! I went for my checkup today & i told him all my struggles & he said this is completely normal!! There is a support group every 3rd Thursday of the month, other than that this site has been my favorite to look for advice or see others experiences!!
