Here are some updated photos.
I have almost no pain at all in my butt lift incision, just mild pulling sensation if I bend over too far. There is quite a bit of swelling above the incision but almost none below. My compression garment keeps that under control though. My thigh incisions are a bit more sore but manageable as long as I don't walk too far or sit too long without my legs elevated. I was told last week I could remove the surgical stockings but after two days of intense swelling in my calves and feet I put them back on during the day. Big difference!
I started using the Mepiform strips for scar care everywhere except the middle to top of my thigh scars. They need to heal a little more before I'll need the strips there. I'll add a photo to show what it looks like.
Three weeks post op
I will begin to use Mepiform scar strips to begin the scar minimization process on the areas that are healing well. Although expensive at $50 per packet, the results are phenomenal. My tummy tuck scar from last year is almost non existent so I know they work really well. More important than the look for me is the flatness of the scar. I found last year that for the first few months after my tummy tuck I could see the raised areas and feel the scars through light clothing and was worried that would be permanent. Nope! The scars flattened out completely and I'm hoping the thigh lift and butt lift surgery incisions will do the same.
I'm still massaging using the arnica gel on the areas surrounding the incisions so the bruising is almost gone. The only other area I have any trouble with is mobility in my left knee. I can't bend it beyond about 45 degrees. My thighs and calves are very swollen so I may start using the surgical stockings again for a week or so during the daytime. I'll let you know if it works.
I will post some pictures tomorrow to compare with the ones from one week post op.

Provider Review
Last year, after a weight loss of 110 lbs I had an extended abdominoplasty with Dr. Ahmad. Not only were the results far better than I dared to expect, but the experience from start to finish was much, much, easier than I was expecting. I had read so many articles about negative experiences with abdominoplasty that I was prepared for the worst, and was pleasantly surprised. I had no drains because the surgeon uses a quill suture technique that prevents fluid build up that can lead to infections, meaning I was able to shower the second day post op. He used a pain pump that meant I was pain free for the first 24 hours and was able to go home the same day - no overnight in hospital. I was walking comfortably after the first week, and able to do all of my everyday activities by the end of the month. The compression garment he gave me was excellent for reducing swelling. A year later, the scar is all but invisible, with no puckering or raised edges. (I am 50 years old with light skin) I went back to Dr. Ahmad this month for a thigh/butt lift to complete my excess skin removal. I had lost another 25 lbs since my first surgery and am excited to see the results. Again I have no drains to worry about, minimal pain, and after one week I am mobile and able to do most everyday activities. I could not be more pleased with the surgeon, or his staff. Hopefully my recovery will be as uneventful as my last one. So far I'm very pleased.
