Day 8 Update

WORTH IT$1,600
Swelling and discomfort is basically gone now. I’ve had a couple of instances where I’ve noticed tiny little sweat marks but nothing major. Let’s see how the next few weeks go because I’m already thinking I’ll be doing a second treatment just to get it all done and then it’s good forever. I’ll update again in a week or two.

Day 2 Miradry

Day 2 and I’m still swollen. Not really in a lot of pain, just a few spots where it feels like razor burn. The Advil is helping. I worked lower body today with a big sweat on and nothing in my armpits. I know that at first there’s no sweating for a week or two at all so I’ll keep posting my progress. So far so good!

Hope you are recovering well! I always say the first 24 hours is the worst, things aren't too bad the day after that, and then beyond 48 hours the pain is pretty much nil, just feels swollen. You'll have some lumps for a few weeks, but they'll eventually subside. You will enjoy no sweat for probably 3 weeks. The procedure kills sweat glands as you know, but it also stuns the ones that don't get destroyed initially. So in a few weeks you'll notice some sweat returning, but you should see a marked difference. Most patients need a 2nd treatment, I had mine done after 3 months, then waited a year and actually had a 3rd. Have gone from botox & clinical strength anti-antiperspirants (that were marginal at best) to just a light deodorant now. Never wet under there anymore. :) Check out my write up, and you'll have a good idea of what you can expect :)

Miradry Review

After I read so many reviews and the research, I decided to get the procedure done by Dr. Suzanne Leaf and her team in St. Thomas, Ontario.

To start off, I am a very nervous person about stuff like this because I’m an RN and have seen a lot in my career. Suzanne took the time to answer everything because I was most nervous about the local freezing having systemic side effects. It helped that she was also an ICU doctor in the past so I knew she could help if needed.

So she did the freezing and it didn’t really hurt. Then her assistant came in to do the procedure. The majority didn’t hurt, but there were a few spots where the pain was a 9-10/10 but only for a second or two and then gone. I could have asked for more freezing but decided to just push through and get it done.

As I’m writing this, it’s been one hour and I’ve got a bit of pain on my left side but it feel like a strong irritation. I feel swollen and my upper arms are like this weird jelly because of the saline injections.

Kind of bummed out I can’t take Advil until tomorrow in case it causes more bruising. Tylenol sucks but when I get home soon I’ll take some and keep icing. The anaesthetic made me feel a touch jittery for a bit but nothing major and I keep an eye on my heart rate and any irregularities.

I really hope this works because I’m tired of being constantly soaked and only being able to wear black. This is a quality of life issue for me and also, because I sweat from morning to night no matter what, my pits can be irritated by the end of the work day and I can’t wait to get home and change my clothes.

I’ll continue to update and post pics later when I get home.
