Major Swelling/burn/blister
MijaOCOMarch 31, 2020
I’ve always had major sweating issues, like dripping sweat to my elbows since I can remember. And after trying every deo under the sun, miraDry seemed like the ideal solution.
I’m currently 3 weeks post procedure. I developed major swelling which is still the case even after cortisone injections. And also a very deep what I think is a burn wound.
It’s been an awful healing experience.
Not to mention I’m still sweating.
I’ll update when I heal further.

And the wound is getting scarier...

Just when I thought it couldn’t get worse, part of the wound cover came off in the shower exposing just how deep this hole goes, probably 4-5mm. I’m horrified and pretty sure scarred for life.
I’ll update again when I have my next follow up.

So so sorry to hear this ! I hope for a healthy recovery. Have you gone back to the doctor who performed your Mira dry? What do they say is the reason for this?

I went to the dermatologist Monday and again today and had it debrided (where he cut the dead sweat glands out with scissors) and stitched it up with some medical gauze inside.
I still have not gotten a clear answer on what happened or why it happened. I was told they see this rarely and some people just don’t eliminate the dead sweat glands.

6 weeks post procedure and still have an estimate 6 weeks healing time.

I have weekly follow ups after the debridement, not I’m dealing with wet wound packing for at least a week to try to help heal the ulcer before stitching the top layer of akin closed. This is the most recent photo of my miraDry injury.

How are you? This wound appeared after your miradry session? How you ate treating it?

Yes this is an ulcer wound that apparently is a possible side effect that I wasn’t warned about. I’m currently almost 8 weeks post procedure having weekly follow-up as the dermatologist and following wet wound packing protocol. Probably at least 1 month of healing left. It’s awful.

omg... Im so sorry that this happened to you and I appreciate it so much that you put it up online!

It’s been awful. I wish I would have seen something like this before undergoing this “non-invasive/harmless” procedure.

This isn’t the technicians fault, it’s the MiraDry procedure itself that causes ulcers with some people.
