My experience with breast augmentation was very positive everything from finding a surgeon to the consultation to the surgery went very well and I felt super confident in my choice. I'll walk you through the process I followed I had decided I was going to get a boob job after I was done having kids that was my personal choice. I was always small chested but I was ok with it you know I learned to love myself for who I was trust me it took a while but I think that applies to a lot of us. By the time I was happy with the way my body looked I found out I was pregnant with my first child. After giving birth to him and breastfeeding for only 4 months I had still lost a significant amount of volume. Then I started working out and lost more, then found out I was pregnant again, had my second child which is when I decided i was going to do it I just needed to find someone close and who had good reviews personally I didn't know where to start so I googled breast augmentation and realself popped up so I clicked and was stoked to see I could not only find surgeons that were somewhat close to me but how much information there was and so many different ways of doing one procedure. I have to admit it made me nervous reading the horror stories. I went on to looking at surgeons first I checked out Chicago which I thought that's where I would have to go to get the best but after going through pictures and reviews I decided to move on to Minneapolis which was closer to me and I only had to click on one to know I had found my surgeon he had amazing photos and great reviews . I called for consultation and the lady who I talked to was so sweet and made me feel so comfortable answered all my questions set me up with an appointment for May of 2016 I called in November of 2015 because I was going to be out of the state till April. they sent me a large packet that explained what type of procedure they do and information on types of implants. After reading through the whole thing a couple times I was so much more confident in my decision. I went in for my consultation and as the lady on the phone everyone was so nice, comfortable to be around and well educated. The surgeon was also nice, straight forward, funny, and many years of experience made me feel very comfortable. I got measured they asked what look I wanted, you can't go by cup size you have to go by topless photos which was hard for me because I don't know how to look at someone's boobs and be like that's what I want on myself but that was my homework. Next I went with the nurse to try on sizes which was fun! I tried on 400 ccs which i thought would be huge on me but I ended up really liking 475ccs which she said he'd probably go 500ccs I was a little shocked. I then went to meet with the director of patient services to pay and set up my surgery date, as with everyone there just super nice and informative. My consultation was on the 17th of May and my surgery was the 1st of June. I made my pre-op appointment with my primary doctor which was a breeze. Picked up prescriptions.
Surgery day: I had to be there at 10:30am, filled out some paper work, I was called back got before pictures taken. I was led to the operating area was given two antibiotics and one muscle relaxer and asked me some questions verifying that I had anything to eat or drink, ect. Then the anesthesiologist came in and asked me some more questions, now the way they do anesthesia made all the difference to me, one they put you completely under no twilight effect, two they do it intravenous way less chance of being nauseous. Ok so for me I consider myself a very nauseous person so I was nervous that I was going to be vomiting all night like I had heard from other girls but I felt nothing I was able to eat and drink normal felt no sickness of any kind and I'm the girl who gets car sick. They did prescribe me anti nausea medicine but like I said I didn't need it in fact the only things I took were the muscle relaxer and the antibiotic. I woke up feeling sore but fine guess I wasn't very funny bummer for my husband.
Pain: honestly to me its not painful but just uncomfortable reminds me of after giving birth vaginaly and you just feel heavy and sort of detached from that part of your body. Hard to explain I thought it would feel like an over worked muscle but it doesn't to me.
Information: I'm 5'2" 112 lbs I ended up get 445ccs. I went through Minneapolis Plastic Surgery and my doctor was Dr. Richard Tholen. Sorry this was so long just wanted to be thorough.

Thanks for your thorough review and explanation of the process. I think many women like and appreciate the detail, and those that don't can breeze through to the end! My team and I are privileged to have you for our patient and glad your procedure went well. We will do our best to continue the kind of care you deserve as your healing goes forward. See you soon! Thanks again! Dr. T

Hey there! Welcome, and thanks for sharing your story with us. I hope you'll get lots of support from the community. Congratulations! I have a couple of questions. First of all, do you know which brand your implants are? And would you be willing to share some before and after photos? It'd be so good to be able to see your transformation :)
