Cancelled Surgery Due to Safety Concerns
I recently discovered that my current plastic surgeon, Dr. Gervias, that was slated to do my TT and Arm Lift, does not have an anesthesiologist (MD) that oversees any of his surgical procedures. He uses a Certified Nurse Anesthetist. In my opinion, This might be fine for a simple procedure but not for a procedure that requires general sedation for 7 hours. I am personally, extremely uncomfortable with the risk that poses. So, I have been forced to find another skilled surgeon who meets the medical and safety requirements that I require.
I'm disappointed because I really like him and Dr. Tholen. I believe they are very talented surgeons but consider utilizing the services of a MD (anesthesiologists) to oversee and monitor patient sedation.
