Rhinoplasty Regret??

I had a rhinoplasty a little over a week ago. I had the cast removed yesterday and I'm really struggling. Every time I look in the mirror I'm filled with deep remorse. I look like a different person. I'm super anxious and so, so unhappy with my appearance. I looked fine before and I wish I could go back in time to undo this mess. I wanted a slight bump removed and some excess cartilage evened out. Now I feel like my nose is super sharp and rigid. The tip is much smaller and pointed than I wanted. I don't know what to do to get over this. I feel like I need something to get me through the next month or so. I'm struggling!

Give yourself more time to adjust to such a big change! I think you look great but can understand why such a dramatic change is a shock, initially. The tip takes the longest time to settle and you likely also have uneven swelling. Easier said than done but try not to worry. Surgery is often the easy part in comparison to the swelling/adjustment etc. I hope you start feeling better soon!

Thank you! I wasn't expecting this to be such an emotional adjustment.

I had rhinoplasty 3 weeks ago and I found the shock to be overwhelming when the bandages were removed - I was feeling exactly how you are now. 3 weeks later and my nose has changed to a more natural position already, so please don't panic like I did! I know it can be difficult but give it time and know that your appearance will change over the next year as your nose heals. I do hope you arent too distressed, your nose looks beautiful.

Thank you. Yes, I'm still adjusting to my reflection 4 weeks post op. But finding that most people haven't noticed any change and also gaining the feeling back in my nose has helped. I'm past the overwhelming part -I seriously was having panic attacks daily-and am hopeful that as I continue to heal, things will improve. Best of luck to you!

Rhinoplasty Gone Bad?

fitmom06

It's been 10 days. I hate my nose. I still can't breathe properly. My nose looks so thin and the tip is super pointy. My nostrils are uneven and my nose tilts to the left. I'm so upset I did this at this point. I just hope I'm overreacting and that I'll get used to it. My left profile is also more severe. What do you think?

Your new nose is beautiful. And honestly a huge improvement from your previous. Regardless you are gorgeous. Give it time to get used to your new look and I think you'll eventually see what we see.

It looks really good!! Some swelling but I'm sure it will subside :)

I think your nose looks good, a lot smoother and blends in with your face more. I also don't think it looks like a hanging columella from the side pics that you posted. I do see the unevenness in the nostrils but from what I've read, nostril asymmetry is mostly just noticeable to u and not to people in your day to day life.

4 weeks post rhinoplasty Still uneven nostrils...

fitmom06
So I feel like it gets a little better each day. I didn't expect my nose to feel so hard and numb. The right side is less swollen and not as hard. I'm hoping that the uneven nostrils and crookedness will improve in the next few weeks as swelling continues to subside. It also looks like I have a hanging columella- especially from my left profile. That area and the tip feel pretty hard and swollen, so I'm hoping that goes away.

I think it looks nice. Your nostrils appear to be uneven in the before picture as well, so you're probably just more aware of it now. What I found with my nostrils is that I only noticed the asymmetry after surgery but looking back I can see that mine were asymmetrical to begin with. Your result looks very cute and feminine!

Yes, they were very uneven before and I didn't even notice it. I think I had more cartilage so it was hidden better. Now I'm just hoping when the left side swelling subsides that it won't be so visible from the front. We shall see.

I'm almost in the exact same boat as you! Had Rhinoplasty and septoplasty done 5 weeks ago and am really not sure about things. I also have uneven nostrils and my nose now veers to one side a little. It didn't before. I also never asked for an elevated tip and my tip is sky high. The waiting game is SO hard! I feel your pain! But the good news is that things should improve. And if they don't, we'll cross that bridge when we get there. I honestly think your nose looks great though and will improve every day!

Yes. I'm trying to not obsess over it because nothing can be done right now. I think I was expecting perfection and I have to realize all noses are irregular. I've been noticing everyone's noses now where ever I go! Best of luck to you and your continued healing.

How is it going? Do you still regret your surgery? Hope all is good.

How are you doing? Has the feeling subsided and are you accepting your new look? I’m also struggling a bit and I feel your pain.
