Current:
On December 28, 2015 I had a Mommy Makeover that included a full TT with muscle tightening, inner thigh lipo, breast lift with replacement of old implants (saline) for silicone ones. In a separate entry I can update on progress, recovery, etc.
Background:
I have been athletic my whole life. Former gymnast and still enjoy playing on my women's and co-ed soccer teams. Play tennis, run and generally active lifestyle. It is important especially at this stage of life that I ensure my body is built for 'real life'...meaning, I want breasts that won't prevent me from my active lifestyle yet I still want something to fill out my sports bras and clothes.
I previously had BA (silicone unders, placed thru armpit, 275cc filled to 315cc) in 2005 which was a few years after my first child. A few months later I went back to the same PS for a C-section scar revision to get rid of that 'bump' when I wore more fitted dresses, etc. All in all and very positive experience. I gained 60 lbs with my first pregnancy yet I was able to loose all the weight and my body snapped back fairly well...
After my daughter was born in 2010, my body didn't quite seem to snap back the same (age I guess, lol). I only gained 20-25 lbs and was much healthier overall but still after I lost all the baby weight (and more) I still couldn't fit into my pre-pregnancy jeans, shorts, etc. My hips were just SO much wider, I had many more stretch marks this time and my breast got complete stretched out...making the implants look droopy and heavy. I also had another c section so again I had that 'bump' from my belly above the scar.
Right now I'm about 125lbs and 5' 2.5". Ideal weight is probably about 110-115lbs. Still having a hard time getting rid of a few lbs after a tib/fib fracture playing soccer in 2013 and being laid up for a long time! After full recovery from this surgery, I hope to be back to a full workout plan and active lifestyle again.
I have been looking at this site for a while and was waiting for the right time to go forward with the Mommy Makeover. December ended up being right for my family/me. In August I had consultations with the surgeon I previously used and with another surgeon as well. I did all my research, reviewed websites, etc. I ultimately decided to go with the new PS based on his results and strong consultation with him. I liked his insights and expert advice. In fact, he talked me into the inner thigh lipo as well...he made a good point about going through all the trouble and not spending the few hundred dollars to do it when I was unhappy with not being able to fit into my shorts even when the waist fit fine. He was more expensive, but this is a lifelong decision (hopefully!) so it was worth going with my instinct on who I felt would give me the results I was looking for.
I appreciate all of you that have posted your honest reviews and photos as it was very helpful to me in processing the decision I came to make. Hopefully my review with help others going forward. Thanks for taking time to read my review!
I'll post additional updates and photos that pertain to this current MM as time progresses as well. Overall, very happy so far...AND, still a long way to go in terms of healing and appearance :)

Thanks for taking the time to write such a thorough and thoughtful review! Though I think you look pretty fabulous this early in your recovery, some women on this site may look at your photos and see only still-red incisions and breasts that have not yet settled, softened, and dropped into a proper beautiful shape. I hope you continue to post photos showing your weekly or monthly healing process, for the "final result" is what really counts, and my staff and I will continue to see you throughout the process to help you achieve your full outcome potential! Thanks again for the review and allowing us to participate in your surgery! Dr. Tholen

Thanks for sharing your experience. It appears to be about 1 1/2 year later, I hope you have made lots of progress. I have the same surgery coming up and I am super nervous. It looks so painful.

Extremely good work but will the scaring heal? That's the only thing I'm afraid of not healing after surgery because I have the skin type that keloids.

Thanks! I'm happier every day with the results. Yes, the scars fade but it does take time...some faster than others. I'm using vitamin E oil and a scar gel that I got from my PS as well. In the end, for me it's about trade offs...I prefer the scars over the stretch marks and sagging breasts. Good luck!
Congratulations on your successful surgery. I hope you are healing well and that you'll let us know how this community can support you. When you're ready, we'll be excited to see your results.
