Just got my second Perfect Peel and very happy with the results. Felt like I needed to submit a review so that others understand the recovery process. I didn't educate myself the first time I got the peel and had some learning to do during the recovery. My recovery for the second time was definitely better. I got the peel at a med spa, not a dermatologists office. The procedure itself is stingy but not unbearable. When I left, I was given a kit that included 2 retinol towelettes, post-peel moisturizer, and easy to follow instructions. Day of the peel (day 1) and the following (day 2), my face was very red - like a bad sunburn. my family teased and called me a raccoon because it literally looked like I had a white mask around my eyes (since the treatment doesn't go near your eyes). On day 2, I used the towelettes - one in the AM and one in the PM with no moisturizer. Day 3, peeling begins. Both times, it started around my mouth and nose. The top layer of skin turns darker brown and shiny. It really looked like I had a "peel-off" mask on all day. DO NOT PEEL the skin!! You will regret it because it leaves your skin raw, exposed and painful. Day 4, more peeling. To not look like a walking zombie with my face peeling off, I used cuticle scissors to trim the skin that was lifting. Again, RESIST the URGE to PEEL it off yourself! Day 5, About 3/4 of my face was peeled and the new skin was so smooth and fresh looking. I continually used the moisturizer given in the kit. Day 6, skin looks great! I am planning not to use anything except moisturizer on my skin for a few more days to let it completely heal. Some sloughing here and there but pleased with results. My lessons learned: 1) allow 5-6 days of staying out of public. The few times I went out, I got a some stares. plus I needed to stay out of the sun anyways 2) Do not peel the skin off your face, no matter how tempting it is. It can lead to scarring but it definitely leaves your skin feeling raw and painful. 3). I was dehydrated, so I drank lots of water and used lots of lip balm. 4) Pleased with results - brighter skin, slight wrinkles are gone, smaller pores, smoother texture. Would do it again in a year or so...

Can you put any lotion on your face during this process?
