I gained and lost 50 lbs and breastfed babies 4 times. After my fourth my husband asked if there was something I wanted, like a push present. I said boobs!!! After some convincing he said yes:) I chose dr tholen at minneapolis plastic surgery because he is a board certified surgeon with great reviews

Your implants look great! I'm from the twin cities and was thinking about going to dr. tholen too (my friend had her boobs done by him too). How was your experience with him and what kind of implants did you get?

Thanks!!! He definitely has nothing but great reviews from me and a best friend of mine that had hers done by him as well. I ended up with 650cc silicone implants under the muscle. I love them!!!!!!!!

Awesome! I am planning to see dr Tholen myself. Anything you think "new boob" people should know that you didn't throughout the process?! I'm scheduled in Feb. a little terrified...but so excited!

Yay!!!!!! You will love Dr Tholen! As far as the process there's not much I think to say as Dr Tholen is so thorough about everything to expect as far as the surgery etc. as far as some things during healing, i can't say it's things I didn't know to expect as much as just didn't expect to be my experience. For example slow "dropping and fluffing" my implants are big and I was not prepared to be patient! My bff got hers done a couple months prior to me, a much smaller implant and her recovery seemed so fast!!!! So be prepared to feel some emotions! I also didn't expect my back to hurt so much! Make sure not to wear ur strap to tight!!! My back ached more than anything else:) also, your boobs are going to make weird noises for a good couple months! But no fear, it goes away:) and lastly nerve pain-it felt like I went tanning in a tanning bed and fried my skin!!!! But enjoy!! I hope the best for you:)

Here's a little history
Je310592March 2, 2015
I'm currently 6 weeks post op with 650 hp silicone Implants. I can finally say I love them.
Originally I chose 575cc but said I wanted cleavage and side boob. I woke up with 650! I've been happy, scared, depressed and happy again in the last 6 weeks:) my husband finally acts like he enjoys them.
Things I experienced during recovery:
Nerve pain. It was under my armpits all over my chest and part way down my arms. It felt like a sunburn and I hated it. That ended around 3.5 weeks.
Numbness. My left nipple is still waking up as well as the skin along my underboob on both.
Zingers. I see that's what they are referred to as. Kinda sharp twinges in my boob from time to time, that also ended about 3.5 weeks.
Depression. Booby blues apparently are similar to post partum stuff. I cried a lot, regretted the size and regretted the surgery all together.
Now that I'm past a lot of the beginning recovery stages I'm great! Wouldn't have chosen a smaller size! My left has dropped pretty nice, still a little ways to go. My right is a little higher so I'm a bit lopsided. Softening nice but a ways to go there too. The bigger the implant the slower the process!! I'm excited for my 3 mo mark, I'm hopeful I'll see a close end result by then!
I must say I have been on this site as much as facebook!!! I love it!! I love all the journeys of others and the pics! So helpful!!

Thank you for your comments concerning the 'Blues' of plastic surgery. I'm post OP day for and today it looked like one breast was much larger than the other. I got discouraged & sad but Itry to remind myself that it's normal. You/I still however have these ups & downs. Some days I wish I had gone bigger other days I love them. I think overall I made the right decision. Good luck to you on your progress.

It's so hard that the recovery takes "so long" in your head you kinda expect to wake up and love what U see but it's not really the case, they look weird and feel weird. But each week they get better and better!! The first couple weeks is for sure the roughest but it's much smoother after that! Best of luck to u too, I'm sure you will look perfect!

I'm prepared to get the booby blues. So not looking forward to that. Thanks for your review. I have my surgery with Dr. Tholen today and all the reviews I read of Dr. Tholen have been so reassuring. I have been on this website actually more than Facebook..it's addicting! btw..you look great!

Thanks! Oh! Today?!? That's so exciting!!! It will all go great, it's so crazy and fast. You wake up a whole new woman!

hahaha, I teared up a bit reading this.... not quite sure why? I'm so emotional. I had my surgery about 3 weeks ago and I can totally relate to excited, happy, sad, depressed, regret etc. Although, I'm still waiting for the complete satisfaction. I'm glad to know it gets better. Right now, I'm dealing with the "sunburn" feeling all over and it's so irritating. I hope it gets better soon. Thank you so much for posting. I don't know how some gals update their pages so often. I was on this site constantly before I had the surgery, but now I have no motivation to post updates.

I'm so glad it was helpful! I don't know what I would've done without this site!!!
I honestly didn't expect the emotional stuff I dealt with. I expected to wake up from surgery, physically recover and be happy as can be. It's a good thing u can't just change ur mind during that phase. Teaches you a little patience. Once I reached 6 weeks it seemed like everyday they were softer, more even and prettier. Literally! As far as the sunburn feeling i don't even remember it being a gradual thing. I remember feeling it and then one day being like, oh! It's gone!!
Best of luck on your recovery!!!

Your results are amazing!!! My husband is being so strange with me since my surgery. Your pictures are giving me boob greed which I don't think I have felt up until now lol
June 5, 2015
Haha! Well that's nice for me to hear:) I went through quite the period of being so unsure of everything!!!! The other day my husband said he couldn't feel anything anymore. It just felt like my boob. I know that made him feel glad. He was very weird at first and I'm still not sure if it was because of the cost, the male doctor or the "fake" boobs. I'm convinced he'd never go back to the old ones!!! Your husband will get there too:)

I'm having surgery in about 72 hours, and your thread is very relatable.... Thank you so much for your candor about the experience. I'm excited but scared, especially because my husband isn't thrilled about it. Your results look great and are a good reminder of why I chose dr Tholen !
May 29, 2016
Thank you!!!!!! I definitely considered not going through with it many times and just said no! This is for me and I want be happy in this area. I'm doin it. Never regretted for a moment and your hubby will enjoy them:) best of luck to you!!!!!!

Bras!
Je310592March 2, 2015
I am still not supposed to weAr bras:/ and it's been hard to shop for them cuz I'm still kinda firm. But I have to say before the new boobs I wore bras that were missing underwires had bent and busted clasps, were old nursing bras! Way to big etc etc etc. I did not enjoy spending money on them. Now?! I can't wait!!!!! I'm dying to know what my true size is:)
