I decided to have my breasts done after I breastfed my first child. After a couple consultations I made the choice to wait to have the surgery until our family was complete. After our second and final child was finished breast feeding I knew it was time. I had gone from a decent "B" cup to not even an "A". My breasts were quite different in sizes also due to the feeding preference of my daughter. I knew it was time and something I really wanted.
After my initial consultation with Dr. Tholen and his nurse I knew Minneapolis Plastic Surgery and Dr. Tholen was where I wanted to have my surgery. I left knowing that I would be in wonderful hands and I knew I would like the results. The fact is Dr. Tholen knows what he is doing when it comes to breasts. That is why he does so many. The clinic gave me the opportunity to look at sizes with my nurse and I also came back with my husband so he was involved in the process. Scheduling and payment was very simple. The clinic's patient care coordinator is AWESOME and answered any and all of my questions along the way (and still now with after care). And if she doesn't have the answer she will find out.
The day of the procedure was so smooth. I was nervous until I arrived at the clinic. The staff was so calm and made me and my husband feel comfortable and kept us informed. Nothing like what you expect a surgery to be. It was nice being able to go to the clinic instead of a hospital setting. The anesthetist was so great. He walked us through what he was going to do and we had no worries. I woke up from surgery feeling really good. I had no after effects or nausea from the anesthesia. Dr. Tholen took his time during surgery to pick the right size implant based on what I wanted (sizing, pictures, conversation) and what worked for my body type. He is the expert and knows what will look the best after surgery and for years to come.
I had the surgery on Friday and was back at work on Monday (office setting). There was, as to expected soreness in the muscle. I was uncomfortable but did not need constant pain medication. I iced when I could. I had ZERO bruising and very minimal swelling. I took care of myself the best I could with two small children and my husband was great help around the house. The pain and being uncomfortable diminished daily over the next couple of weeks. By week three I was feeling pretty with very little reminder of the surgery besides great looking breasts. I followed Dr. Tholen's after care instructions and had no issues what so ever with recovery. I (and my husband) love my new breasts!!!!

Wonderful experience and results! The staff and Dr. Tholen are fantastic. The entire process was very comfortable and I knew I was in great hands. My breasts looked very good right away. I had no bruising or swelling. Within 3 weeks my breasts looked awesome and like I had them for years (wish I had pictures to post. I will try and add some at a later date) I am very happy I had the surgery and chose to work with Dr. Tholen. Great decision. I will highly recommend Dr. Tholen to anyone interested in plastic surgery!
