The whole process went by very smoothly! I was very lucky and didn't have much pain at all throughout the process. I heard some women say it's the most painful experience ever and would cry from the pain. For me, it just felt like I did a hard core chest workout and felt sore afterwards. It just feels like a lot of pressure and feels pretty tight. Every now and then I would get sharp pains and worried something might be wrong. However, Dr. Tholen told me it's completely normal and it's just the nerves adjusting to the changes. I made sure to do my exercises as often as I could and believe it truly made a difference!

Right before I went into surgery, he asked me if I'd rather be a teaspoon smaller than what I'd like, or a teaspoon bigger than what I'd like. I was VERY hesitant towards saying I'd want anything bigger, because I wanted to make sure it looked natural. I decided to say I'd rather go bigger and I don't regret it one bit! They still look very natural and I'm extremely happy with the outcome! I went from being about a 34A to about a 34C (420cc).

This may be a little TMI...but one thing I wish I would have done differently would be to take a laxative along with the Vicodin. That was not a fun experience...trust me!

Thank you for sharing your story on RealSelf...including the helpful laxative tip! I'm guessing this part was worse than your surgery?  ;)  Glad you had a smooth recovery and that you're pleased with your results. Congratulations!
