I am a mom of 2 young boys (almost 3 and 1.5 years). I have never had much to work with and after breastfeeding it's even less appealing for me to look at. I am looking to increase my size a little bit more than what I barely had originally to make myself feel more feminine. I had my consultation and found that 491 cc is what I really like. I am going to go back and try them out again with some of my shirts to put on over, just to make sure. When I read others reviews I think I might be overdoing it a bit, but I figure might as well make sure I don't go too little.

What to expect
MplsmomMarch 1, 2016
So I'm trying to read up on everything I could expect for the surgery and recovery process. How long are you typically sore? When are you able to lift your arms up enough to wash your hair? Did you need to buy your own sports bra right away and how do you know what size to get, or did you wear the one you went home in for a while? What tips did you wish you knew before that you know now that would have helped with recovery?
Sorry for all of the questions, I just want to make sure I'm as ready as I can be.
Thanks for your help and support through my journey!!

Sore for about 1.5-2 weeks. Can't lift arms over head or overstretch your arms for 2 weeks due to not wanting to stretch out the sutures I believe (scar widening or opening). Doctors office SHOULD supply you with a bra-buy another one while you are there so you have one to wear while the other washes. No picking up the kids for 6 weeks(hardest & saddest part for me). Start using scar cream once the bandages are removed. Use paper plates and plastic cups so u don't have a lot of dishes to do, get as much help with the kids as you can...I couldn't drive for 2 weeks which most Drs say a couple of days-not accurate in my case! Driving made me sore and I couldn't drive because I was still taking pain meds until 5-7 days after surgery. Just start thinking about your daily routine as you are doing it and note the things u will need help with for the first 6 weeks (bathing the kids, meals, heavy lifting, cleaning, getting objects down that are stored up high (we brought down these items prior to surgery), etc. Make it as easy as you can even if the house will be messier with stacks of plastic cups on the counter or paper plates out. It's survival time-don't try to keep things fancy! My kids were young too. It was hard but manageable. I never broke any of my doctors rules though. I see some women do and it makes me nervous for them! Good luck!

Oh-my husband washed my hair the first 5 days. (I washed it like every other day or something??) when I began to wash it myself I still kept my arms in tight and just did the best wash I could without stretching my arms. I'd rather have decently clean hair than ruin my expensive surgery! Husband also blow dried my hair the first week. Again-it wasn't a time to be fancy-just survive the process the best we could!

Thank you for your advise. Yes, the hardest part for sure will be not picking up my boys. I had c sections with both so I'm familiar, along with my husband, on how that scenario goes. Great idea on the paper dishes!! I don't want to do anything that the Dr says not to too.

How did you know what size to get for the bra? The nurse said I was a good solid D with the cc's i picked but I don't know how reliable that is once they're in.

They fitted me in the office when they took my wrapping and gauze off. They had bras there that they "give" (you pay for them) their patients. They are all front closure. I had to wear it 24/7. I actually still wear them at night! Does your dr not provide them? If not i can find out the name and i know Amazin sells them. The front closures are hooks (just like a regular bra) end there are 3 different columns of hooks so you can make it tighter or looser. Also has hooks on the shoulder strap. I am 34 DD at Vic secret and that's what size they fitted me for at the office....actually mine are 34 D surgical bra I think?? I guess they just eyeballed it or something??

I know they said they'll send me home in a bra but I can't remember if it's the one I should wear all the time. I emailed asking but haven't heard anything back and getting impatient. Haha! I live on amazon so if you have some I should check out that's be great. It sounds like this is more something I'll deal with after though and not before, right? Waiting 6 weeks is the biggest struggle I have right now. :)

Yes the bra they send u home in is the one you will live in for 6 weeks! Just buy a 2nd one when you are there
