Mini Neck Lift

WORTH IT$3,775
I decided to have surgery because I did not like the shape of my neck and the lack of a proper angle under the chin. I initially wasn't sure if I needed lipo. and a chin implant, just lipo. or a mini neck lift. I ultimately decided on a mini neck lift and through my research, I found Dr. Tong and decided to schedule a consult.Consult fee:
There was a $150 consult fee, which could be used towards any procedure, including fillers, etc. (I thought this was fair)
The consult:
Dr. Tong spent about 45 minutes - an hour with me during the consult, he answered all of my questions, educated me on surgery options, let me know what was possible and what was not possible and I was provided with a quote and available surgery dates prior to leaving the appointment. I felt very comfortable, I never felt rushed at all and I was told by the office manager that if I had any further questions I was welcome to come back to see Dr. Tong again. I really appreciated the amount of time spent with me during the consult and the willingness to answer any further questions if needed.
I took a day or two to think about it and then scheduled my surgery for a mini neck lift.
The surgery:
The mini neck lift surgery consists of lipo. around the jawline and neck and a small incision under the chin to remove the deep layer of fat directly under the chin.
I did the surgery under local anesthesia and twilight sedation, I was initially a bit worried because I knew I would be in and out of sleep during the procedure, but I was surprised at how comfortable it was. I remember waking up a couple of times, but I didn't feel any pain or anxiety at all and just fell back to sleep after a few seconds.
Recovery:
I didn't have pain during recovery as the area was numb for the first couple of weeks, I took 1 T3 but realized I didn't need the pain killers. The area was basically just tender. I had quite a bit of bruising on my neck for the first few days after surgery, it was 85% gone after the first week and 100% gone by 2 weeks.
I'm now 6 weeks post-op and healing really well. I still have some numbness, a small amount of tenderness and minor swelling that comes and goes, which is all normal for 6 weeks out of surgery.
I can clearly see the results and so far I'm very happy!
I have 1 small incision under my chin which is healing very nicely.
Follow up care:
I had 2 follow up visits so far and again feel that Dr. Tong spent a good amount of time with me in these appointments.
The office staff and the nurses at the surgical facility were all very professional throughout the process, especially Katherine who was always very pleasant and knowledgeable.
I would highly recommend Dr. Tong as well as the mini neck lift surgery (best for those lacking an angle/definition but do not have access skin)

There's definitely a noticeable difference in the angle. I removed the photo with the intention of uploading a better one, Unfortunately, it does not allow me to do that without a lengthy update, which I do not have right now.

I’d love to see your photos but for some reason I’m not seeing them.

It would be nice to see before and after results. We all can write something but wonder what's real and what's not.

Hello, my before and after has been added. (5 months post-op)

5 months post-op update

New_2020
I am now 5 months post-op and the swelling has been gone for a while now, it was never that bad, but more swollen after waking up in the morning which doesn't happen much anymore (if at all). There is still a slight amount of numbness, but nothing noticeable, unless I touch it, and my incision is healing really well. I purchased some scar sheets from the drug store, which seem to help keep it flat.
I don't use this app often so it took me a while to get back on to post an update, add an image and realize I had some comments! (Oops!)
I am still happy with the results and my decision to go forward with the procedure. Overall, it was a very easy recovery!
Feel free to reach out with any questions!

I scheduled a lower neck lift for March. Gettin so nervous. How was the healing process?

That's awesome! The healing process wasn't bad at all! Most of the bruising was gone within days and the pain was very minimal because the area was numb far longer than the pain lasted.

You look beautiful. How's your scar under the chin? Did he use general anesthesia or were you awake?

Oops! You said local.

Thank you!
Yes, local with twilight anesthesia.
The scars are healing well, very flat and hardly noticeable given the location.
