Update oct 2023

Still the biggest regret trusting her. I wish i could go back in time. Please be careful as it seems I am not the only one who had gone through this after i read some other patients reviews. It is really unfortunate, because there are good doctors who will refuse to take your money if they are not confident in meeting your expectations. And then there are others like Dr. taghva.

She Ruined my Face.

For the record I just want to say that I actually liked Dr. Taghva, as a person. That being said I truly regret having the surgery done with her. I had a mini lift and facial fat transfer. As you can see from my photos, the outcome is far from good, in fact I looked much better before the procedures and which I never had done this. I wanted to write this review to help others make an informed decision about electing to have any surgery with her. If I had paid attention to the negative reviews on here and on google and done my research properly on her, she also is in litigation with a another patient. I would have not made this mistake. The mini lift she proposed to me was a MACS lift which is basically using barbed sutures to lift the SMAS, it has a high relapse rate and is basically a well marketed mini lift to younger patients with less downtime, but truly doesn’t give any result and leaves you with similar scars as a traditional facelift. I knew this after I did some research so I did a follow up consult with her and told her that is not what I want and requested a mini lift where the smas is resected like in a (high or low SMAS facelift) but a mini version for me just to help lift my cheeks and jawline slightly. This is where I went wrong- I trusted her, but she misinformed me and made it seem like she was going to do just that by telling me she was using nylon sutures. After the surgery when I voiced my dissatisfaction she then tells me “but I can’t achieve the lift you wanted with the small incisions near the sideburns” so was this so hard for her to tell me this before performing the surgery on me?? I went ahead with it because I did have previous experience having fat transfer with her last year which initially looked good, but completely dissolved after a month (another waste of money). But, this time she told me she can also do the fat transfer more aggressively and include PRP for it to last (PRP was not included in my fat transfer when she did it). Long story short, I did both the mini lift with incisions just on the sideburns and fat transfer, I came out of surgery looking absolutely ridiculous but I stayed calm believing it was just the swelling post op. Weeks went by and as the swelling dissipated I continued to look worse. I got the opposite of what I paid for- my face looked more lax and cheeks and jawline sagged more than before, I have no definition in my face, the fat transfer was overdone, especially in the forehead area so much that I looked alien like. I was an attractive girl, but now I literally had people in public asking me what the heck was wrong with my face. There was no change in my cheeks and jawline but as you can tell from my photos it has actually worsened and I look more aged, to make matters worse, the fat transfer created a round, unnatural forehead not suited for my ethnicity, I feel heaviness all around my forehead and brows and cannot lift my brows properly, and the lift has somehow caused pulled down the tail of my eyebrows and corner of my eyes giving me a sad puppy dog face (see from the photos). I am left with horrible scars for scars that are suppose to be so minimal, I have seen better scars that go all the way in front of the ear. She also kept telling me she removed a lot of skin, which is not the case as I can tell from comparing my photos, when I received my ops report, there is no mention of how much skin she removed. She basically did the MACS lift on me but used permanent sutures to market it to me as a more permanent solution (but it is not, purse string sutures whether permenant or temporary do not have the strength to hold up skin and smas on the small area of the face that she did against gravity). I wish she was transparent with me, but instead I remember at my consult she asked me if I needed anything else done to my face. This shows her priority is profits. I saw 3 other surgeons before her and all of them actually refused to do the procedure she offered to do and one of them actually warned me that it is impossible to get the lift that I want from the area of the temple that she is telling me she can do. As a doctor, she knew this as well, she knew my expectations she is a good listener, but she took advantage of the fact that I trusted her.

You can imagine how upset I am over this because I am from out of town and I saved up to fix some minor issues I saw due to aging, and I paid all that money and traveled to her only to come out not only with zero improvement, but looking worse and now having issues that will need a revision. When I spoke to her about this, as others have mentioned, she gaslighted me and first said “maybe it is your weight, you should get it checked since you keep losing weight which can contribute to your face looking more saggy than before”, then when I brought up her ops report she stated that she writes very simple ops report and that I am misreading into it. Please take my review seriously and be careful, I was once in your position. There are doctors who will straight up tell you no they can’t achieve what you want and will not take your money to do something they are not confident will give a good result. She uses a cookie cutter approach. I am young and did not need a major surgery, so I bought into her marketed “contour lift” it did not improve my appearance at all, the pictures speak for themselves. I’m not one to usually write a negative review, and it’s taken me awhile to get to a point of doing this. But, I hope it can help others prevent going through what I have.
