Hello I am a 76 year old male in pretty good health . I have had Dentures for 10 years at least and never wear them and they have been worked on and are better however they are choke me and won;t say in and move around . now I have this dentist Dr Crisman who is just a regular dentist he has very good ratings and is age 65 and he says he can put implants that will hold my dentures in place also said he has done a lot of implants with out any problems and I am concerned if he will do the job right , he gave me a price of 8,000 , He is a great guy and worked on my dentures ans helped them a lot he did not make the dentures , however he is not the type dentist that usually does implants. And good advise would help me and thanks ahead of time for the help Gilbert Brown

I would also like some advice on this. My upper denture is something i compare to a torture device... constantly gagging me, it broke 3 of my natural lower teeth, doesn't stay in place at all - even with tons of glue, its way too big, & the soft reline is a sloppy joke. I think that a big part of me not being able to adjust to this awful thing is my choice in dentist.... The place i chose doesn't specialize in dentures, which i didn't previously know mattered. I am now looking into stabilizing the biggest mistake of my life with implants that i can't afford. Had i had $$ for implants, i would have gone that route to begin with, as i only really needed to replace 4 teeth. Your dentist may be excellent. And they all had to start somewhere before they could be experts who specialize in any area. But there is something to be said for using doctors who regularly perform the procedure that you need. I feel swindled by my dental office who gave me empty promises & a handful of additional problems while only exacerbating the issues they said they could fix. Had i chosen another place, perhaps i would have a better quality denture & be happy with the results. I'm here looking for advice too, but i will offer what i do know -- do your own research. Learn everything you can elsewhere BEFORE you consider any procedure with the dentist. The person receiving your $$ is NOT the one you want answering your questions, as they will advise in their best interest before yours. Check online what this dentist's success rate with implants actually is, & read reviews on him. Look for the low or bad reviews & decide if they are of merit. The right doctor can make this wonderful. Just as the wrong one could make it a huge regret. Knowledge is power here & you really do get what you pay for as far as quality & experience are concerned. Budget dental is risky & experience matters.
