I just left the dermatologist after receiving my Fraxel laser. I have to tell you my face is on fire, but tolerable if that makes sense. I numbed for an hour and then the doctor did 3 rounds over each area of my entire face. I hope I get amazing results, I will keep you posted!!! It wasn't the most comfortable laser treatment I've ever received, but hopefully it will be worth it.

I'm doing well thank you!!! Been going to the gym and all. I just tell people around me what I did so they don't think I look crazy for no reason LOL. Are you thinking of doing it???

The recovery has been really easy! I'm done with any peeling (which was not bad) and skin back to normal and it has been a week. The worst of it was actually the lazer itself when you get 3+ rounds over your face (I only did 3 in the 1 sitting). The rest of the details and pics are all uploaded in my daily review. It was so much easier than I had inticipated. My only question is, how many are really required because it doesn't seem to be 1 and done if you want perfect skin. I'd definitely do if again (but it's pricey and that's the only issue I have with it).

What kind did you have? Re:store, Re:pair or Dual? Thanks for your feedback!

I had Dual. I will tell you 1 treatment will not do the trick it's 3 and committed if you can do it. I didn't think I would need that much for $1200 a pop so I say sooooo not worth it. I'm opting to do facials with light peels and future IPL instead for a fraction of the cost.

So, day 2 I looked pretty burnt and brown. My skin felt like sandpaper. It's not peeling like I thought it would. I expected it to peel off in layers, but it's actually like very grainy. I gently used washcloth today to help the peeling progress, but it's not really advised. It's hard to not want to scrub your face off LOL. I'm not in any pain, just red. I'm applying tons of lotion too, my face is soaking it up like a sponge! This recovery is way better than I anticipated! I was definitely scared to do this initially, but as long as you don't have to go to work for several days (or don't really care) I say go for it! I had off for holiday break so this has been perfect timing for me.

Hello

Do you have any updates for us? I booked an appointment and I'm nervous and second guessing the procedure.

Thanks

Hi! I posted results through day 9. I say go for it. If you have a few days of down time (so you aren't too red at work, you'll be ok). It all depends on the level that your doc intends for you. Be sure to tell them what you expect. I had 3 rounds of the lazer over my face in 1 sitting (that is not as intense as 8 rounds over your skin, I imagine that hurts) from what I've read. The down time was very tolerable in my opinion and could've been done on a Thursday and back to work Monday if I did it again. I just had burnt looking skin the second day, days 3 and 4 were like sand paper and then it just exfoliated literally like sandpaper-very grainy. I do think I will need more treatments to get even more even skin texture though. Good luck on whatever you decide. Just ask your doc how many times they intend to go over your face and take it from there. Good luck!!

The Fraxel Machine

lisas87
I wanted to upload the machine so you can compare when looking to do this. I've looked up so many stories and have seen some really crazy pics of pretty terrible recovery pics, but so far, with this machine it's not too bad!

Great good luck!!! A couple questions to ask ahead of time.
1. How many 'passovers' do they plan to do? I had 3, some people get 8 and that is intense!! I think slow and steady is safer and once you've had 3 passovers it gets pretty uncomfortable. 2. If you are prone to cold sores, make sure you pre-treat (I didn't have this issue, but I've seen people blister if prone to that so take that seriously.). 3. How many treatments do they expect you to need? I didn't ask this but after I heal, I'm wondering now if I will need more and at $1250 a pop I was really hoping I'd be 1 and done. Good luck!!!

I will ask that! I know he recommended 3 treatments for me! I'll let you know how it goes! Thanks for the advice
