Was looking for a little 'refresh' in my skin...
was looking for a little 'refresh' in my skin after some sun damage and larger pores in the t-zone area were starting to really bug me and effect my overall day to day feeling of confidence. I met with Dr. Sieber at Marin Plastic Surgery and he recommended the Halo Laser for my skin. I made the appt a few weeks out after that and I was imagining that it would be more painful than it was! I put the numbing cream all over my face and rubbed it in good as he said it would be most effective. We started with a BBL which was not painful at all and then went into the Halo which I was bracing myself for the pain. I was pleasantly surprised to feel VERY little discomfort. I immediately relaxed and almost enjoyed the rest of the treatment - it only last about 20-30 minutes.
My skin looked and felt like I had a pretty good sunburn for the next 18 hours or so until it turned into a more bronzy red and tightened up pretty good after the 24 hour mark. I kept using the creams that Dr. Sieber provided me through the healing process and one had aloe and lidocaine, so I didn't have any pain or uncomfortable feelings except I knew I wouldn't be leaving the house for a few days (which I had already planned not to!). By the middle of day 2, the skin started to peel around my nose and mouth and then went outward from there. I was careful to only wash my face with Cetaphil and not pick off the peeling areas. By the end of Day 4, I was completely peeled, with super soft, pink, brand new skin. Still super sensitive, I waited until day 5 to apply sunscreen and make up. I noticed how fresh & glowing my skin was! The pores were definitely minimized and the overall texture was much smoother.
I had my procedure on a weds around noon and was back to work on Monday with a HUGE smile on my brand new face!! The results 2 weeks after are still getting better. I'm careful to protect my skin with at least a 50+ mineral SPF and I feel it's taken off some age from my face already but the results from the deeper laser (Halo is a dual laser) haven't even started to appear yet! So that means this is a gift that will keep on giving for months to come!!
