Same 'ol story...

First of all....went to my dentist for a 6 month cleaning and he joked that with the number of attachments on my front teeth, I would have been better off to go with clear, traditional braces. Sad but true. An update: After waiting two months for new trays, I find that Clear Correct only planned to send 4 trays. Really? Look that the picture which posted on June 18th....they expected FOUR trays to correct those bottom teeth? Surprise, the four trays did not correct the teeth and I am now waiting another two months for new trays.....who knows how many trays this round. So far, it has been close to five months lost while waiting on Clear Correct to send new trays. My orthodontist reassures me that it will be okay because I have a few "refinement" trays I can use before I run out of my allotted number of trays. . My concern is how can you 'refine' if the teeth aren't even straight and how can I 'run out of trays' if my teeth aren't straight? Who goes through this process to have their teeth 'kinda straight' or 'not as bad'?? Anyone who undergoes orthodontic treatment expects to have straight teeth and there was no mention of a finite number of trays at the initial consultation. If Clear Correct was not able to straighten my teeth, they should have never agreed to take me as a patient. Frustration continues, especially as I watch my husband put in his new Invisalign trays every two weeks and see the great strides he is making. He started three months after I did (with the same approximate treatment time) but he will be done long before I am. I'll say it again... AVOID Clear Correct. Invisalign is more expensive but SO worth the extra money.

I really am a positive person, however Clear Correct is stressing me out.

My initial consultation indicated that treatment would be approximately 24 months. However, after just 12 months, I was informed that I will not be getting new trays at my next appointment. The orthodontist is supposed to "evaluate" to see if I need additional trays. Check out this picture....is an evaluation really needed? Is there any doubt that these poor teeth need additional attention? I cannot get answers to why the big discrepancy between the initial 24 month estimate and only receiving 12 months of trays when my teeth are obviously not straight. More frustrating is after my "evaluation" I will have to wait the 2+ months to get new trays. The wait is bad enough but I have to keep the EIGHT buttons on my front teeth. In addition, the last 4 trays have cracked and because of the cracked trays, I might end up wearing a temporary retainer made in the ortho's office....for two months....with my EIGHT attachments. It is disheartening to struggle with clear correct while watching my husband breeze right along with his well-made, well-fitting Invisalign trays. Yes, Invisalign is more expensive but they are a superior product, based on my experience. Dealing with Clear Correct really has been a disappointing experience which I would not recommend to anyone.

More bad news.....latest visit added another...

More bad news.....latest visit added another attachment, bringing the total to EIGHT and unfortunately, the new one is prominently displayed on my top front tooth. To make matters worse, it is so difficult now to get the upper tray off and on, the attachment has already broken off once, requiring yet another trip to the office. Funny.....nothing was ever mentioned on the website, printed materials or at the consultation visit about these pesky attachments....
