This week my pre op appointment happens! Wednesday July 18th. I'm going to ask every dumb silly question I can think of. My husband is going with me. I hope that helps. Sometimes I helps to have a second person there to remind you of what to ask for to remember more of what the doctor says. I'm really getting excited. I'm skipping some of my son's late night baseball games this week. It's the last week of travel baseball, and I really need to continue to exercise and get to bed on time. I want to be in tip top shape come August 9th. It's very hard for me to put myself first for a change. My husband is encouraging and my biggest supporter. He wants me to focus on myself and get prepared. What a blessing I have in such a great husband!! :-)

Hello! I'm 3 weeks post op from a tummy tuck. I am seeing my dr tomorrow for a check up. My tummy girth is gone. I definitely look better. The shape of my waist is completely different. My scar is thin, purplish with some scabing but most of that has fallen off naturally. Bruising was very minimal. No lipo just a tuck. I am still swollen below the scar line right in the center of my scar above the hair line. Some minor swelling at the top of my tummy. Swelling seems to be worse in the evening. I sleep most nights comfortably now at 3 weeks. I've noticed my energy level is returning. I still make myself rest in the afternoon and take a nap. My naps were 2-3 hours now about 45-1 hour. I have not started to walk for exercise yet. Wondering when this will be possible. I mainly do light activity around the house in the morning, rest in the afternoon and not much in the evening. I am scheduled to return to work on 9/20 on a Thursday that way I'm not facing 5 days In a row right off. I'm able to go to my sons football games which I'm thrilled about. Bleachers are not comfy but I get up and walk around or stand some too. I'll let everyone know what my dr says tomorrow! Thanks for everyone's support and a
Special Thanks to all the Doctors who have responded to my questions.

Four weeks out. Four more weeks until my tummy...

Four weeks out. Four more weeks until my tummy tuck! Does anyone move like they are pregnant because of the girth of their tummy? I FEEL like I do. I'm not tall, only 5 3" and a small build. My tummy is too big for the rest of me. It's such a burden. I hope I really notice an improvement afterwards.

Hi BBGalini, the bed is a great idea. The best two things that I got for post op is the raised toilet seat & the "tub bench". The toilet seat has been so easy to use so I don't have to sit so low to pee. Also the tub bench sits right in front of the bathroom vanity so I could use for my sponge baths & then I just carried it into the shower with me for my shower. Soooooo dang handy. It is also very light. I used a lanyard for my drains in the shower then the next day I used a stretchy headband around my neck to hook my drains to. I had a great shower today. Shaved my legs too. I am PO day 4. So both are great investments. I have been in my own bed everynight with 3 pillows under my legs & 3 pillows under my head to prop me up. Slept good so far.

7/8/12. Had to buy swim suit for our family vacation. It
was comical but after TWO HOURS of trying on and re trying on I found two that are not frumpy but aren't string bikinis either. Wish I could just pull on a pair of trunks and go! Not
Fair guys!!

I'm staying busy. Weeks are flying by. Told my boss. I'm renting a hospital bed to help me sleep comfortably. My husband has been so supportive and caring.

All my contacts with other ladies on this site have been so positive and encouraging.

Nothin' like trying on swimsuits to boost your self esteem, right? I actually did the same thing today and spent FOREVER in the store. Mine are for a vacation happening post TT but it was like oh let me pull my skin down and pretend what i'm going to look like in this. it was pretty comical.

Welcome BBGalini!!! So nice to meet you...I too hate my pouch everytime I sit down. It just gets in my way from sitting to standing to wearing pants, skirts, bathing suits....naked! I am so ready for my lap buddy to go away....lol. Please keep us updated on how your journey is going!! =)

I'm 3 days post op and doing well. Taking Meds on time and tracking fluid from drains. Drains are no big deal and I stressed over them for no reason. I see my dr for first post op Monday 8/13

Definitely rent the hospital bed.  Mine saved me for the first two weeks post op!
