Microneedling
Microneedling has truly changed my life. After years of battling acne, I was left with a face covered in scars, redness, and dark spots. I have undergone 6 microneedling sessions (without PRP) over a period of 16 months and my results are truly amazing. Not only are my scars significantly less visible, my pores are smaller and my skin is soft and healthy. The procedure itself is a little painful, even with the numbing lotion they put on before, but the actual process doesn’t last long so the pain is tolerable. Afterwards, your face looks like is has a bad sunburn (stinging, tightness, warm to touch, some blood), but within 24-48 hours your skin is back to normal. Sometimes I peel, sometimes I don’t; I don’t know what it depends on. Instantly you will get a nice glow to your skin, but two weeks later is when you’ll really see a change. Along with the sessions, I have been using retin-a nightly (I stop retin-a 5 days prior to the microneedling session), along with hyaluronic morning and night, and sunscreen in the mornings. This enhances the results from microneedling.
I actually travel two hours to get this done (from Corpus Christi to San Antonio, Texas). I found a Groupon deal of 3 sessions for $95.00, so I buy packages of 3 sessions at a time and space them out to once a month. If I purchased in CC, I would have to pay $1,400.00 for 3 sessions!!! Even with the 6 trips I’ve made, I don’t think I’ve spent the price of ONE microneedling session had I purchased from my local dermatologist. I plan on purchasing 3 more sessions leading up to my wedding.
