I had my treatment with Laura Taylor, and I liked her because she just sounded like she knew what she was talking about and she’s seen good results with other patients. She was very professional and explained the process to me through it all. She made sure I was comfortable and still did a good job.
I have been looking for something to help with the appearance of my skin, and so today was my first treatment with the PRP. Excited to see the results. Two more to go. If I like the results, I will do more.
I went with microneedling because I was told that my skin (Fitzpatrick 5) is too dark for some lasers, and I wanted to get started with something. I do plan on getting microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and even laser (when I find a specialist and a laser that I am comfortable with trying).
Scars differ from person to person, so treatment plans might be different.

I can definitely see a difference in your cheeks! I think you’ll need a few more sessions to see dramatic changes.

Yes. I have a few more scheduled. You have to wait 4-6 weeks per session.

I have a few more microneedling sessions to go as well. Im interested in subsicion, fillers, co2 laser and maybe even insicions if they suggest it.

I am interested in fillers. Couple of doctors said they wouldn’t do subcision on me and few others said my skin tone might be too dark for CO2, so I will need to do a combination of other things.

Well your skin is looking amazing. Im going for my fifth microneedling next time.. its done wonders for me. Looks like it for you too. Like wow Im happy for you. I hope to see updates! I bet you'll be happy with your results with the combination of treatments. Patience is key but the work put in sooo worth it.

Thank you! I’m so glad that you are seeing something. Sometimes we get so used to how our face looks, it’s hard to tell. I just posted an update from my 2nd treatment with PRP. I have one more to go, as part of my package, but I’m sure I’ll get some more and maybe even a few peels.
Also, I did microneedling in 2017 (without PRP), but I didn’t like the place and it took me a year to find a place I like. Now I just need to stick to doing the sessions/doing something every couple of months.

Hi... what size needle did they use in your cheeks?

She does the deepest one. I think she goes to 2.5mm or 3.0mm. But if I’m not mistaken it’s the 2.5mm needle around my cheeks and chin. She also does “stamping”.

John Maclean, British makeup artist, has an excellent video on microneedling. He has tested all the products made by Banish, a California company. I have an English friend who has been using the Dermawand from Amazon and is thrilled with the results.

Thank you. I am definitely going to check out the videos an other products. I really think I can achieve good results at home for a fraction of the cost.

Second Treatment

This is my second treatment - Microneedling with PRP. I am still not too sure about the results, (mainly because I have had the scars for a long time, so I’m jut used to seeing scars), but I am excited to see how everything turns out.
I have one more treatment to go (paid for 3) and then I plan on having a derma peel facial.
Just posting updates for anyone interested.

Will post more photos in another week or two, as the doctors/esthetician’s say that the skin is constantly healing itself and that it takes 4-8 weeks for the collagen to produce/reproduce.

My skin actually seems to fluctuate. Some days I feel like I can see a difference, other days I don’t know.
I do really like the PRP with the microneedling. I do plan on getting a microdermabrasion in a few weeks. Guess this acne scarring is a long journey for some of us. We take our wins when we can.

Most importantly, comparing your before and after photos, do you feel like any of your scars have become worse? I either want my scars to stay the same or get better after MN but not worse. Thanks....

Sorry for the late response. I don’t think my of the scars have become worse. I have seen a difference and others ask/notice as well. I think with more treatments, facials, and proper washing routines, you’ll notice a difference. Also, the skin takes weeks to heal/reproduce, so be patient.
