Microneedling Ruined my Skin

ORIGINAL POST

Microneedling Ruined my Skin

I’m 38 yrs old and in the last couple years I noticed my skin starting to change. The texture, larger pores and some fine lines. It wasn’t horrible and I looked good for my age just noticeable for me. So I went to a reputable Medspa, they have great reviews and a beautiful staff. The esthetician recommend to start off with microneedling. She said my skin was pretty good just some discoloration and pores in tzone area. Well I went for my first microneedle and it wasn’t to bad, hardly felt it and hardly and redness or irritation. No results which she told me that I wouldn’t anyways. She recommended 6 in total. Went for my second one, a little
More invasive . Some pain and redness and irritation lasted about 3 days. Didn’t see to
Much of a result but thought my skin was looking maybe worse. I chalked it up to “my skin was healing itself and producing collegen” so I thought I’ll go for one more and see. Went for my last one a week
Ago and she used a bigger needle size cause that’s they increase it each visit. This one was painful. My face felt and looked like a bad sunburn for about 4 days. Well now my skin looks awful. I’m totally regretting all of it. My forehead which was in good shape has now aged 10 years, lines and holes everywhere. My pores are worse and I have fine lines everywhere and under and around my eyes also. Research this treatment before you get it. My skin was good for my age before hand, just wanted a freshened up look and now I look tired and haggard. Research Dermapen too because that is what they use for microneedle and you will find it has made people’s skin worse. Wish I would have done more research when she told me but just trusted her because the place was professional and every body working there looked amazing. Maybe it wasn’t right for my skin and better for others but do your research! If I would have done that on here I would have never done it .

I have had it twice with the PRP and it worked great. Firmed/toned up my skin and reduced acne scar texture greatly.
You need to give it more time. After a needling session your skin is agitated and is drier giving the appearance of more wrinkles & aged skin. Collagen takes time to renew. In the meantime care for your skin well & keep it very moisturized & avoid harsh skin products.
I’m praying that is whAt it is but I have been reading other people’s bad experiences on here with their pics and i have the same bad results. Some even updating months after the procedure saying that their skin will never be the same again. I can’t even stand to look in the mirror.
I am sorry about your micro needling but I have a suggestion to you , you should never go to a spa to get your Microneddling done! you should go to a licensed dermatologist or plastic surgeon . I have two of my Microneddling and each time is very invasive but they do not change bigger needle or small needle is how invasive that your doctor had to decide which part like your discoloring needs little more invasive to remove your discoloring and go into your skin so the collagen will come and help you remove the discoloring or uneven skin. Most of all is the after care did you or Spa gave you anything for your fees for after the treatment care because my dermatologist he would give me something that is specially order and to clean my face and to activate more collagen and tighten my skin Elasticity of my sagging chin it’s tighten before I have to microneddling done. Like I say after care is very important for the first two days after each treatments the plastic surgeon or your dermatologist would have something order after treatment care products and instruction just after care for Microneddling . What I am suggesting you to do right now you should go to a good plastic surgeon and asked them what can they do for you to look better than ever. Btw, every Microneddling procedure should be six weeks apart and never do it on summer time because the UV light and the sunlight no matter what kind of good sunscreen it won’t do the job unless you plan to spend your summer inside your house with the shades close and that’s not practically. Good luck Best regards Onlai
I agree always go to a doctor if it involves any type of invasive procedure. A "medspa" that looks nice with pretty people doesn't mean that they know what they are doing. It can take 3-4 months after your last treatment to see final results. If it's going to involve needles in my body a PS is going to do it. Good luck.
Sometime you have to do a little bit more research and find somebody is professional not a Med Spa not something cheap or on sale . That’s why usually something goes wrong with your Microneddling I am 55 years old and I got 2 Microneddling done now I look like 40 yrs old. My skin is smoother and brighter, my uneven skin spots or age spots so call it is slowly fading away. Good luck ladies, I really wish you well. Onlai
Very good advice!!
