RF Needling Gone Bad

ORIGINAL POST

RF Needling Gone Bad

I had RF needling on my forehead a few days ago and not only was the pain unbearable but sat up tp see brown dots and grids all over my forehead. Its day 3 and its scabbed and red. Im worried it will scar. What do l do? Will this heal? Im applying skin repair cream yet it looks quite bad. The photo attached is only one corner of my face. Has this happened to anyone and if so will it heal?

I think is to be expected...most information I have found indicates the formation of dot scabs and redness with this peaking at day 3. Did your administrator not talk about post treatment? I think what you are experiencing is very much to be expected...give it a couple of days and don't pick at any scabs!!
I agree, no picking as that will make scaring more likely! I would think you should keep it moist with aquaphore or bepanthen but I highly recommend that you research all aftercare thoroughly online before applying anything.
Be careful what you wash your face with too, use a very mild cleanser for sensitive skin, nothing perfumed.
Mahoney1 has had this treatment recently...
I have had 2 sessions so far from a different clinic.
Even though the “norm” is slight redness resembling a mild sunburn which is supposed to last only a few days, everyone’s skin is different.
My skin is more sensitive and I actually looked worse by day 3.
I had the scabs form where the needles were inserted and had what looked like scabbed grid all over my face which gradually healed but lasted days 3-14. Bit please do not pick at the scabs!
The last area to heal was the bridge of my nose.
I have completely healed from my 2 sessions and awaiting for my third session.
I think it’s also important to not irritate the skin the first 24-48 hours after the treatment. And after 48 hours I applied sunscreen daily, this is very important.
After my first treatment I used sunscreen and foundation the following day and I believe that prolonged my healing process.
After my second season 4 weeks later, I did not put anything except mild Cetaphil moisturizer the follow evening and continued to keep the skin hydrated.
I washed with very mild I scented cleanser.
After 14 days I did mild exfoliation to remove the dead skin that was left.

Hang in there I hope it works out for you!
I used mild unscented cleanser*
