Reforma Skin | Skinsmiths Clapham South | 1 Year Journey
WORTH IT
I've always had problematic and oily skin. Now in my late twenties I've had two stints on Roaccutane for cystic acne and this helped a lot, but the condition and texture of my skin means I have scarring and areas still prone to breakouts.
Having been down the medical route, I really wanted to find a solution that would help improve the permanent scarring and help battle the breakouts without using harsh chemicals or prescriptions medicines that have a never ending list of scary and plain weird side effects. Bleached bed sheets or insanely dry lips anyone? One of my biggest peeves about trying to get help through the NHS or traditional medical route, was that at the base level their is a lack of understanding of how the skin works and how it's related to lifestyle choices. Getting to the medical professionals that do have that knowledge is often tricky - you can only usually do that when you can proove GP prescribed methods haven failed you and by that time you're so far down the line of hating your skin that the damage is already done.
Skinsmiths was a revelation for me because they really take the time to understand your skin and how that relates to your confidence and lifestyle. They don't believe in harsh chemicals and they are realistic about what can be achieved. I signed up for the Reforma Skin membership that combines a number of conditioning treatments and HIIT treatments. My main aim is to approve the appearance of acne scarring. I'll document my year long journey here.
