Microneedling damage - do not recommend this at all

ORIGINAL POST

Microneedling Damage

I did microneedling 5 weeks ago and ended up with damage :(
It has left me with open pores and orange peel texture, which I didn't have previously. She did 1.5mm on my cheeks and nose and 1.0mm for the rest of my face. I think she went too deep - I have attached some photos the clinician took just before and after (first two) as well as my pores now (last two). This is everywhere on my cheeks, nose and forehead. Warning! It's really bad.
There wasn't any peeling and the clinician reassured me that it will go away. However it has been 5 weeks and I'm worried that this is permanent.
I've mainly focused on moisturising and restoring my skin barrier but it hasn't helped much. My confidence has taken a hit and I'm afraid to leave my flat now.
Prior to this I had a very simple skincare routine (moisturiser and sunscreen) and was happy with my skin even though there were some minor acne scars. I really regret microneedling.
I do not recommend this at all.

Oh my goodness no. I'm scheduled for my first ever microneedling next week. I think she did go too deep? In time, this should improve, please keep me updated on your progress? Thanks!
Hope you'll reconsider! After this happened to me I read many stories of people having similar damage. I hope it'll improve. Some days I'm optimistic and some days I feel like there's no hope. I can't even leave the house without a cap and mask on now. Focusing solely on repairing my skin barrier and bringing down inflammation as I read that this could be a cause of the orange peel texture. Will keep you posted on how things go!
My sister has had several microneedling sessions and they have really helped her skin. However, after reading yours and others that go wrong, I wonder if it is worth the risk? What do the people say when you show them your skin? The person who performed the procedure?
Ahh glad it went well for her :) the person denied things are worst, she said I had large pores to begin with. But you can see in my before photos they were not visible.

My family definitely sees a difference, my face gets super oily now and the pores are very visible. I also have older photos of myself which shows the damage. There's so much new damage (pores, holes, millia, scars, lines etc). Trying to stay positive that this will eventually go away.

If there was no change I wouldn't have mind. Just didn't expect to end up much worse.

I've contacted someone who has customised skincare for me. Once I get it I'll have a consistent routine and hope to fix the damage.
I hope she got fired
There’s reviews like yours about every procedure. I think it truly depends on the patients skin and the provider. It looks like the needle they used wasn’t good and that they went too deep. I’ve had many needling sessions over the years and even did it myself and always ended up with better texture for a short while until it returned to this former state at which point I did another session. The damage you have might be fixable with halo laser but not aggressive. Maybe at home TCA peels.
I agree I have deeper pores
Oh no, when did you have yours and have you tried to fix it?
I had this happen with a very very shallow dermaroller (0.5). I now use a 0.75 stamp and have seen improvements with it.
Guys, go get a carbon laser peel. Its very gentle yet effective at inducing collagen and fix scars and marks. Do NOT get an abrasive laser as your skin is still fragile and healing. Remember to stop using exfoliators and retinol atleast a week before. Try and your skin will get better and smooth again - takes about a month or so to start seeing results. Cheers.
What is before or after?
