Microneedling. Regret

Skin Update
$260
My skin has improved but I would NEVER do microneedling again. It’s a pointless gimick in my opinion and I don’t think there is enough research on it to backup the claims. I still scour for new medical journals on the treatment and to see if they are going to deem it unsafe. I don’t think med spas should be able to perform this treatment and I would never recommend it to anyone. I’m still using Retin A 3-4 times a week and it’s already improving my skin tremendously. I hope one session didn’t do any damage to my skin but time will tell.

Nearly month out from microneedling
One month post microneedling. My skin was recovered quite a bit but idk if it’s worse than before at this point. I just started Retin A so I’m excited for that journey, wish I never did the procedure in the first place. Waste of time and money. I want filler on the right side of my face to balance it out. Ask questions below

Unfortunately, quite a few people have been responding badly to needling. I have had a few treatments myself i actually own a derma pen and do them myself at home with a decent numbing cream. I personally have never had any issue with mines. Although reading countless horror stories on here has made me question this treatment being suitable for everybody. The holes in your face and the red dry skin are part of the healing process after the treatment and usually subside within a week or two. I suffer from acne scarring this treatment has helped me with the scars and revealing new fresh skin. I’m so sorry that so many people have had a negative experience. Prior to knowing this i would have actually sworn on this treatment.
Retin A should help but be prepared for possible breakouts and very dry skin. Food Luck
Please don't do anything further to your young, pretty face. It doesn't need enhancement.
I don't want to alarm you, but microneedling's safety long term is unknown, as it's a new-ish thing, and the result SHORT term are encouraging, but that isn't the full picture with this 'treatment'.
I considered it seriously for old acne marks, but online research has convinced me that it only ages and harms skin with continued use. I found a good, science-based article explaining it all. Will leave link to it if you are interested, but I don't want you to get anxious.
I'm sure you haven't had enough of it to do any lasting damage, but from what I've read about it, i wouldn't risk it for myself or recommend it to anyone.
You have great skin. When you're older you'll look back and see that! If it ain't broke, don't give all your money to greedy derms and beauticians. They have something to sell, so they don't have your best interests at heart.
If you're worries, pure, organic rosehip seed oil is fabulous for scar prevention and healing. Works wonders post-operativley on surgical scars to make them disappear. The newer the scars the better, and your skin type would love it.
Also Aloe Vera is used traditionally by native Americans for acne/scars/healing. Fresh is best: the gel, but shop bought gel is fine. Does wonders over time. Also red light/LED lamp sessions are comparatively cheap, safe, *PROVEN*, non-invasive and a pleasant form of gentle collagen induction. I've done sessions of that and it's good. It's called Dermalux here in UK, but there will be a US equivalent.
Remember: you are lovely just as you are. Just send a bit more time looking at yourself down the other end of the telescope, so to speak! Hope this helps. Take care. x

Thanks, mate!
Just curious if you’re still seeing small wrinkles on your face when you smile? I had microneedling done almost 8 months ago- just one session. I don’t believe my skin is the same. And not in a good way

How long did you skin take to recovery
I too have the lines and some weird dark marks . I too am hoping we are just healing. I went back to my esthetician’s and she gave me a repair cream called Cicalfate. I’m 2 weeks out and still have the lines but started the cream yesterday.
i am sorry to hear about your microneedling experience. How are you feeling? Is the weird dark marks healing. I hope it is. Hugs!!!
Just trying to give you reassurance . I’m 2 weeks post and things are finally now settling and those lines are fading. Just keep good moisture . If it burns your skin don’t use it. Try Cerave or Cicalfate and go to your derm cause if you’re inflamed she’ll have to give you steroid cream. And that helps a lot !
I’m 2 weeks (almost 3 weeks) post and I still have track lines and marks from the needle. Will this eventually heal??

It is very possible the person who treated you did not use the correct serum for Infusion according to what your skin needs are or maybe the serum that she use or the after-treatment she recommended or the after-treatment you used was not helpful to your recovery time
I am not sure where you read that micro-needling and radiofrequency helps treat veins.
Neither of these two mentioned treatments treat veins. Micro-needling and radiofrequency are both collagen injection treatments.
I suggest you find a board-certified doctor who performs the correct laser to minimize the veins that you are talkin about I wish you all the best Michelle
I'm very happy that I had it done
