Microblading (Powdered Brows) From Thin to Thick. I Love Them!
ORIGINAL POST
From Thin to Thick
WORTH IT$414
I did nanoblading today ( like microblading but with a handheld machine instead of manual strokes) and went from very thin eyebrows and not used to thicker eyebrows.
I was warned that everyone freaks out because the pigment is very dark. The shape is nice but I’ve noticed one arch is higher than the other. I will get it fixed at 6 week touch up. This is new to me and I did do my research so I knew what I was getting into but you have to see it to believe it. Yes it looks horrifying because it’s so dark but I will be patient and wait it out. I wondered if they were too thick and then I think well I’ve never had thicker eyebrows before and maybe I looked weird before with thinner eyebrows.
I went to a technician who is very reputable and super nice. I did have a freak out moment when I realized wtf did I do but I know it will fade. I was told my eyebrow will be an ashy color like the natural root color of my hair. I’m doing everything right with the aftercare. I will continue my review as I go along.

My Kid Says I Look Like an Angry Bird lol
Day 1 - You are going to feel like you’re regretting it and will be horrified afterwards but it’s normal. EVERYONE freaks out when they see these dark bricks on their face. I had a WTF late at night what did I do moment but calmed down after I went online and realized I wasn’t alone and that in days it will get lighter.
My technician Sabria from Brows & Beyond is well known and is sooo sweet. I feel like I know her from another life. I knew going there and based on her portfolio that I would really like her. Her location is extremely clean and welcoming. Her staff are very sweet as well. I showed her a few pictures and then she did the outline and showed me before she went away blading them. She is so down to earth which really helps because it did hurt at first and then she applied the numbing cream. After that it was easy. It’s more of an annoying uncomfortable pain. They said it’s similar to getting a tattoo depending on certain parts of the body.
The staff had prepared an aftercare kit with round cotton pads with some sort of astringent on them in a little ziplock bag and was told to wipe the eyebrows every hour until I went to sleep. Upon going to sleep I had to use a q tip and put another cream on the brows that they had also put in the aftercare kit for me. They cannot get wet. Washing my face was an ordeal but got it done without any water on eyebrows.
Day 2- Had an appt to get hair washed at my local salon. Did not want to go out looking like one of the angry birds but had no choice. I walked into the salon and felt like a weirdo. Thankfully I was there only one there when they first opened. I received some positive imput and was curious to see other people’s opinions who are knowledgeable about the subject. I felt a little better. Went back online and read blog after blog and how this is a process and to be patient. The color will normalize. Still feel like I look like a weirdo but that’s okay. I will continue my day by day updates. I know people will be horrified after doing their brows but it’s the reviews here that have helped me realize that it will be okay. If I can help someone realize that this is a process then I will. I do miss my old look because I did have a much softer look but I know they will look great in the end. The key is to go research, research and more research while finding someone who is experienced. Experienced being the operative word here. Don’t fall for cheaper gimmicks etc. Pay the money to have it done right so you know you’re in good hands

One more pic
I forgot to add this picture from day 2 in the morning. From the side I like it. My family says the pictures doesn’t do me justice because it looks better in person. These brows are not quite photogenic yet lol.

I was also told to stop using my mandelic acid which is an alpha hydroxy on my forehead and retin a for a month. I usually alternate them nightly.

Hun, your eyebrows are going to look beautiful!!! I really don’t think they look bad now but when they are all healed, they are gonna look gorgeous. To me they look like the way the girls are drawing them on now!! When I get mine done (not sure when) mine will be seriously scary as my hair is dark and so are my eyebrows. Talk about angry bird, lol!! Can’t wait to see how yours look in a few weeks!!! Hang in there!!

So do they stay forever like a tattoo? Or does it wear off, I’m thinking of doing mine now, totally new concept so need to research.

They will wear off in 1-3 years depending if you have dry or oily skin. If you have oily skin, the pigment doesn’t hold as much. I tend to have mature dry skin and the pigment will hold better with dry skin. I just found a blog that documented the whole process with pictures from beginning to the end of the first touch up after 6 weeks. While they may last between 1-3 years, you will need a touch up in between and isn’t as expensive as the first time when you get it done.
They are a beautiful shape, really frame your face nicely. I hope the color fades to the color you prefer, I'm excited to see how they turn out!
