Getting my money back
$360
The lady that ruined my eyebrows directed me to her liability insurance to make a claim after she talked with her attorney. I put together a ppt presentation that showed beyond a doubt that she messed up. She is a really nice person, and if you are a softy (like me) do all correspondence in writing, not inperson or over the phone (also gives you clear understanding and possible evidence if it has to go to court). Remember, it is not personal! Do not let them convince you that it can be fixed if you know it is messed up. She stopped responding to my emails, so I wrote that if she did not respond in a week, I was going to move forward with the legal process and in the mean time contact the BBB and Attorney General (two very excellent resources). I explained that at this time the botch procedure would cost $360, but if I took her to court it would cost $2,000 at a minimum. If anyone has any questions or an example to use in their claim against the company, please ask.
Of note: I just started the claims process (also something I have never done before), so if anyone needs help her, I can also answer questions if I went through it or how I did it.
Thanks: I appreciate everyone else's posts on their different procedures (good and bad) and am try to give back telling you all what I have learned.

Forgot to include why it will ruin your skin
I learned that even if it is done correctly, microblading is cutting the skin. Cutting the skin over and over (ie touch-up every 1-2 years) will more than likely scar the skin. I have only read a few follow ups that high light this, but unfortunately for me, the scarring is there on my first treatment because of the overworked skin.

It’s not cutting. It’s scsrtching. Light scratching. Whoever leaves you with scar tissue over a certain amount of time is putting too much pressure and damaging your skin.
It’s VERY MUCH cutting! Scratching? That wouldn’t hold pigment then. We use different needles for different types of skin, and have to go into the first layer of skin, if you go any deeper, than yes scarring can happen.
She used a three bladed tool rather than individual blades, which I believe was also part of the damage problems I am experiencing.
You are correct we do cut into the first layer of skin, but it should NEVER scar you either. I do know that people are prone to scarring no matter what, and your artist should’ve known this and gone over with you.

Mircoblading Ruined my Skin! and Will Ruin Yours in the Long Run Even if Done Correctly...
BLUF: The issues with the microblading performed include: the Color, Strokes, Ink, Overworked Skin, and Shape.
My eyebrows were botched by a woman who misrepresented herself. If she does not give me my money back, I am taking her to small claims court (I have never had to ask for my money back because of a beauty service and have never sued anyone). If I end up going that route, I will do a write up on how I did it. After court, I will name the business and WARN everyone about her!
The lady completely misrepresented herself: I was given a dull color because she used the wrong color and did not cut correctly; she used chaotic strokes giving me random lines; she did not cut correctly so the ink did not take, giving me bald spots; she overworking my skin to a raw-red state that may not heal; and most importantly she gave me an angry shape that is on my forehead. All these errors will make it very difficult for me to find a professional that will be willing and able to fix them.
What I am experiencing is NOT part of the normal process. It now takes me 4X longer to make my brows presentable with makeup, and the bright red bald spots and the shape make it difficult to cover up and match. ***Of note, it is not my skin or aftercare that is the issue and lies solely on the technique: it is evident where the pigment held and where it did not, as well as where my skin is raw and where it is healthy.

I think it only really scars if you cut too deep, because the top layers of skin shed off and you regenerate new layers constantly which is why its semi permanant and fades over time. Whoever did this should not be allowed to ever do brows
You are probably correct and an excellent technician could prevent it. I have mostly seen the red legacy 'scars.' I also think that when we get old, and have this done on a regular basis, we don't always take into consideration that our skin thins and is more prone to damage by the cuts. Just something else to take into consideration... Thanks for the reply!
Exactly. It was too deep. Microblading when done correctly will not cause damage. It’s supposed to be even lighter than a paper cut. Surface scraping. That’s it
At this point, I believe very few people are qualified to do this procedure! She had the creds (doing it since 2001) and a tattoo license... She has no excuse, except for a bad day, for the out come of my brows: which is why she is giving me my money back.
That’s why you need to check credentials. Photos mean nothing. AAM board certification is everything. Also the training of the school they went to to become certified.
It is funny you write that because she stands by her capabilities and training (she says she has done microblading since 2001). Unlike a bad hair cut, this is going to take a lot more time to fix. Thanks for the comment!
Where are you? If youre close to me, i will happily fix your brows for free
What a lovely offer! I am in San Antonio; however, I need the skin to heal and then fade the tattoo...
But please don’t think that all of us who are certified & CONSTANTLY learning new ways to do it. I can’t tell how many classes that I have paid for before actually doing it on a person. I hate that shotty artists ruin it for the real artist who love doing this to make clients feel good about themselves and especially their new brows ;) I wish that I lived closer to you to change your opinion on Microblading artists.
