Day 8: same as yesterday

Just a pic of day 8. Looking like yesterday. The peeling and scabbing were minimal and no more itchiness. Brows look good with makeup but still weird on a bare face.

When I saw the first brow technician a couple years back, I think she did a combo brow without telling me. She used the machine for a long time on my eyebrows and barely did any microblading. This session with the new tech only did microblading. The first recovery with combo brow was more painful, and this recovery there is barely any pain and minimal swelling. Hoping the color will fade to a golden brown rather than this dark ash. I tend to keep the ends of my hair lighter and I don’t think my real brows are as dark at this. I will post when anything changes. Once again, if you’re reading this and very upset about your newly microbladed brows, just hang in there!

Day 7: getting used to the brows

I’ve been putting makeup on and the brows look good. I went and got brow powder to fill them in; my tech said not to use anything but powder if they look sparse. I’ll see how they look in the next month healing but one has a weird shape that she can hopefully fix. Also, I know the trend is to put a sharp, straight line in front of the brow, but I don’t like that on my face. I want more of a curve to soften that look. I’m in my 40’s and don’t need them to look sexy as she said... just want them to look fuller and natural.
If you just got them done, HANG IN THERE. Don’t do anything drastic. If you chose your tech wisely, you are going to be okay. They get dark and then fade. Our eye is used to seeing our face a certain way, so it’s a shock for some of us to see them after they are done. Let the brows heal for a couple weeks before doing anything drastic. I had to take a breath and gain perspective.... it’s only eyebrows. Nothing life threatening. Worst case scenario is that we walk around with weird brows a couple of weeks, and they fade. Or cut bangs. Or request changes at touch up. It will be okay! You can read my freak outs during days 3-6. Feeling better now and so will you!

Day 6: uneven but fading

I can see some microblading strokes coming through but still dark and sharp to me. If they stay like this, I’d like a softer color and shape. I plan on bringing photos of what I’m looking for. Have to go to work tomorrow and stop hiding out. Hopefully I don’t get weird stares but I’ll wear my glasses and do full makeup to try and camouflage. Not much flaking today at all.

I forgot to add that when she did the first pass, she didn’t like the color and changed it. I don’t know how this works but maybe that’s why they are so dark brown. My hair color is medium brown and blonde on the ends. A dark brow isn’t the best choice for my face, but even a shade or two lighter will make a difference. Hanging in there! If you are on this journey with me, hang in there too. The brows should keep changing over the next few weeks hopefully.
