I had the pleasure of having a mommy makeover...

I had the pleasure of having a mommy makeover performed by the skilled hands of Dr. Miami, he is gift from God to people in need of plastic surgery. My procedure included tummy tuck, lipo of whole back, breast implants. He gave me wonderful results, made my dream come to reality. My initial Consultation was very thorough addressing all of my questions and concerns. I felt I was in "Expert" hands with Dr. Miami. My journey all started in Sept 2014. I came across his web site, and admired his gallery of before/ after pictures of all types of procedures he performed. By the way I live 3 hours away from his office. I was very interested in a tummy tuck for some time, and I have seen many doctors for a consultation. Something kept pushing me towards Dr. Miami. Despite the fact I live 3 hours away, I made an appointment for a consultation. After meeting with him and his lovely assistant Yani, I felt good vibes. He answered all my questions, I had other procedures in mind, he assured me that I am not in need of them. He was very patient in answering all my questions. At that moment, I knew Dr. Miami was the doctor I was looking for. I was very skeptical of the 6 hour road trip, that was the only detail that held me back. Plus very hard to quit smoking! Few days later I had a meaningful dream, and felt I had made the right choice. Not only did I get the procedure done by God gifted surgeon, a wonderful/ beautiful person inside and out, he helped me quit smoking.... Now that was something very hard for me to ever do... Thought it was impossible and to be honest never wanted to quit! Dr. Miami is not only a plastic surgeon, he was a mentor, a caring doctor, that offered every type of help for me to kick this bad habit. Even after my procedure , I'm at 2 months post op, everytime I go see him for a follow up, he still talks about how happy he is that I'm still smoke free, he is a doctor that actually cares for his patients well being and health. Chelsea( she is his nurse for after patients recover from surgery) is a wonderful nurse! Beautiful, and caring person. During recovery after surgery, my friend was allowed to come see me, poor thing, she couldn't handle the smell of recovery room so she had gotten real sick, vomiting, fainting, etc! Chelsea is an angel from the heavens above! She did what a natural nurse does when they see a person who is ill, without hesitation she rapidly. tended and helped my friend as if she was an actually a patient of hers. She refused to let us leave without any assistance because she was so concerned for us, when my friend recovered, she called a home nurse to go home with us. It was a story to remember, makes me laugh everytime I think of what happened that night! Now let me tell you about Marlene who is also Dr. Miami's nurse, where can I begin! A beautiful soul!!!! I don't think there is enough space for me to describe her. She is a wonderful nurse, a kind spirit, very classy, gorgeous in every way, caring, intelligent person. I always look forward in seeing her at my follow ups. When i see her, I know for sure that all my concerns and issues are being handled in a professional way. She makes you feel like family!!! Never thought in my life that i can meet people in a short time, especially in the plastic surgery field and touch my life in a wonderful way. Believe me when I say this, because I have cancer and seen medical professions for a while, and never felt like the way they made me feel. Dr. Michael Salzhuar, Chelsea, and Marlene, have a special place in my heart!!! I do have a small complaint, not really a complaint but a advice for Jovana ( patient Cordinater), you must remember you are dealing with women who chose and elective surgery, not a must have health issue surgery. You need to help patients feel like they made the right chose in having whatever procedure they decide in doing. Sometimes authority can get to a persons head. That's what I felt About Jovana, Honestly I don't mean to be rude, I felt like she played a role of a being an adult bully. Yes I had a smoking issue, and Dr. Miami helped me overcome this nasty habibt, but as for Jovana, she made me feel like I had a drug problem. I never felt so bad or embaressed in my life. She treated me like I had a addiction to the worst kind of drugs out there, to top it all off she put me through a depression/anxiety state. She ignored my calls and concerns, she would pretend she is not at the office, and I would come to find out that she was. She would make me fee like she is doing me a favor (as if I was getting a free Bono procedure) or I am not a real paying client, doesn't believe in patient privacy, everyone knew my bad habit in the office, when I call before I state my name the call center would know my name. I wasn't allowed to talk to anyone but her., I asked for another patient Cordinater, was told I can speak to her because she decides who I can talk to. Jovana randomly calls one morning and tell me that I must come in the next day to the office for a nicotine test....very short notice and keep in mind I have 4 kids, and a 3 hour morning drive to dr. Mania office. So, She decided (because she can) that I come in 2 weeks before the surgery to take a nicotine test and if I fail surgery is off, I can totally understand that, but she wanted me to come in on the day she chose which was my brothers birthday and explained to her that we have a special surprise for him, if I can do it the next day or a day before and she strictly said this day or no other day or surgery is off! Despite the 3 hour early morning drive, I took that test with all confidence, she didn't even have the decency to call me and tell me I passed and my procedure is still on for the given date. I waited anxiously 5 days, during that I called her 40 to 50 times and never returned my call. I guess she was disappointed that I passed, maybe wanted to prove a point to other staff members. So I called the general office manager and she looked in the system for me and told me procedure was still on, and apologized that I should of gotten a call right away, me not knowing the nicotine test takes 5 minutes to get results. Jovana needs to learn her patient skills, especially if she is working for a doctor such as Dr. Miami. So this is not no Spanish novela show, or reality show, it's a professional center of plastic surgery. Im half Puerto Rican, I have seen a lot of drama in my life, so I believe when people seek professional help, especially choose to do an elective procedure, shouldn't have drama or feel that they are bullied, or make a client feel that they are teamed up against them, or mistreated. You should make them feel at total ease and make them feel confident not the opposite. Despite my Jovana experience, I totally recommend Dr. Miami to everyone! Even if you live across the country! The end :)
