The experience so far has been thee absolute worse ever ! I’m in so much pain ! I have a serious case of hemorrhoids and can not pass a stool to save my life. I went home with a catheter and my lower back hurts the worse from the pressure of the repair. If I could take it all back I would. But right now I just need to get through the healing process and hope to pass a stool very soon. I have been taking colace and miralax for 3 days with still no success. I’m about to try magnesium citrate as a last resort before going to the ER or calling my doctor . Never have I experienced such agony. I’m
Praying for recovery . I’m supposed to go back to work Wednesday and if I’m still feeling the same I don’t see how that’s going to happen

Vaginoplasty finally done / 4 children

Mynewself04

I had all 4 vaginal births. After my last delivery I felt like every thing just went down south I knew that nothing felt the same .

I started to research vaginoplasty procedure about 2 years ago when I discovered such a thing even exists !! I went to multiple consultations and decided on a Dr. out of state who specializes in women reconstruction and repair . I finally braved up and scheduled my surgical date.  I am currently on day 5 and the pain is finally subsiding . The procedure was NOT a walk in the park . Day 1 I was fine but when I woke up from the anesthesia I was shivering and miserable but once they took care of that I was fine the remainder of the day, days 2-4 the pain started to really kick In and was excruciating especially in my lower back area from the repair. It also appears that I am prone to major internal hemorrhoids because boy are those flaring up , from all the pressure , I knew I had a few externals that appear from time to time but nothing like this ! The bowels as a result have been extremely hard to pass and I can only pass water stools for the most part until they shrink down which I’ve been using creams for & prep H suppositories for. I have been taking colace and miralax every day since surgery and it does work for BM. If I didn’t have the hemorrhoids I would be fine today . The actual vagina is in no pain at all. I also purchased a heating pad to help with my lower back pain which has been a HUGE relief ! I highly recommend .  When I left the hospital the catheter was removed and I was sent home to rest up . unfortunately a couple of hours after I got to the hotel I was no longer able to urinate on my own from all of the swelling . I had to go to the ER to get another catheter put back in place so yes today I still have it in I can’t wait for my appt to have it removed next week ! I will say that I feel like as of today (day5) everything appears to be getting back to normal . In terms of less pain and more energy and appetite. I’m not in as much pain . I do still feel pressure in my lower back but I’m using the heating pad for that and it’s helping . I opted out of taking narcotic pain killers because the other pain killers I was given for inflammation did the job just fine and plus I didn’t wanna risk even more constipation. I’m finishing up antibiotics and I am anxious to getting out and about very soon. I’m Not a home body so being on bed rest this last week has been sucky . I highly recommend making sure you have someone with you. I read a lot of Posts and researches and reviews before making the decision and some for people it seemed like an easy recovery and others not so much , I’m one of the others . I know that the surgeon I selected is highly skilled and I wanted to make sure that I had my procedure done right as I have also read multiple horror stories . Please make sure you do your research and make sure your investment is spent properly.

Hello I know this is an old post but I am going through something similar. Already had a nightmare surgery and am looking for the best surgeon for my second repair. How are you doing? Do you recommend your doctor? I'm desperately looking. Thanks

6 Days post op vaginoplasty

Mynewself04
I am now 6 days post op and I feel 95% better than I did days 1-4 I have tons of energy and feel like I can now drive and do some walking around and some light errands around the house. I know I still need to take it easy so I can Continue to heal well. I’m still feeling very mild pressure in my rectum. I was able to have BM,s since Saturday with no problems now, but I have continued my colace which maybe helping my stools be softer I’m afraid to force too much still it also may have helped that I never ended up taking any narcotic pain killers which I understood may cause constipation. I plan to take this week also off of work since I sit for such long periods of time and also have a long commute. The first few days I regretted the procedure bcz of all the pain but now I’m happy I went through it , it’s behind me and I’m on my way to a full recovery.
